Excellent college, brilliant faculty, and even better placements.
Placements: 105/150 students got into a PG course in various colleges across the country. One person got into AIIMS Delhi Most of them are selected into SKIMS for various PG courses. Those who did not secure admission into any PG course did manage to secure their jobs in medical offices at the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir.
Infrastructure: College has free Wi-Fi available throughout the campus. Library is not that good but a new library is being inaugurated. There are excellent classrooms, including some smart lecture halls as well. A very good auditorium is there. GMCS comprises of following hospitals SMHS Hospital which houses the department of medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, and dermatology. Super Speciality Hospital, Children Hospital housing the department of pediatrics which is a 500-bed facility. Bone and joint hospital which is department of orthopedics, Government LD Hospital, and SDH Hazrat Bal.
Faculty: Teachers are top surgeons, physicians, and specialists in their field. The curriculum strictly follows NMC-based CBME pattern. GMC has faculty members of medicine at University of Kashmir. Exams are moderately tougher than other colleges but the passing percentage is almost 100.
Other: I was part of the 2018 batch MBBS. It was my dream to become a doctor. The curriculum of CBME should be reversed back to the original one. Fests are not organized by college. There are conferences happening now and then. Freshers' parties do happen and sports are a major attraction as college represents at university levels.

It is the best college for clinical studies. Best in the northern region of India.
Placements: Clinical studies are excellent that help to crack NEET PG and get placed Salary is good about Rs. 60,000 per month after cracking NEET PG. There are a total of 180 seats and every student gets a chance for internships to enhance their skills. Medicine, surgery, radio, and derma all are good.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. We have Wi-Fi and library available from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Canteen is not available in college but in hostel it is available. Sports and games facility is nice. Mess is available in hostel till 11:00 AM. Ground for boys hostel is very big where you can play and enjoy every kind sport.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and have good taste in teaching. There is no semester-wise system, yearly exams are conducted. You have to study hard to pass them. We have two terminal exams in the 1st and 2nd years, and one terminal exam in the pre-final and final years, and then end with sendup exam and university exam.
Other: MBBS is aura. If you have dream to become doctor. Come and make your dream come true. Events and fest are not conducted, only seminars are conducted.

I'm satisfied with this college in every aspect of faculty, placements, and facilities.
Placements: A total strength of 180 students enroll each year in the MBBS course. The MBBS course duration is of 5.5 years including 1 year of paid internship. Seats are divided into state quota (85%) and AIQ quota (15%). GMC Srinagar is known for its 7 attached hospitals in different locations of Srinagar. There are good academics.
Infrastructure: Each department has its lecture halls. Demonstration labs are equipped with first-class medical instruments and devices. There are separate hostels for boys and girls with double and triple seating occupancy. An outdoor stadium and an indoor stadium are present in the boys' hostel. There is a good mess facility with multiple cuisines of food.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. They have a lot of years of experience in medical education. The course curriculum is according to the guidelines of National Medical Commission (NMC). The university exams' passing ratio is about 80%. The college is affiliated with Kashmir University (KU).

An overall good college..
Placements: The Government Medical College in Srinagar is a good college with excellent infrastructure and well-qualified faculty. It offers the MBBS course with an intake of 180 students per year. After the four and a half year course, every student gets a paid internship of one year. The stipend for interns is currently Rs 12,300 and is expected to be increased soon. The college has seven associated hospitals, including one super specialty hospital.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is okay, and the college is 65 years old, so necessary renovations are done from time to time. However, there are still lots of things that could be improved. The equipment and facilities are excellent and on par with any medical college of the highest standard. There is no college canteen, but students can use the hospital canteen. Hostels have proper canteens, and the food quality is good. Sports activities are given priority by proper budget allocation, and every year there is an annual sports meet where students and faculty members participate. The best batch is chosen, and proper teams are formed for intercollegiate tournaments.
Faculty: The Government Medical College (GMC) in Srinagar has a highly qualified and experienced faculty. The college has sufficient faculty, with the highest number of faculty in the Anatomy department (63 faculty staff). The curriculum is relevant and follows the norms laid down by the National Medical Council. Semester and professional examinations are conducted by the University of Kashmir. The pass percentage varies from year to year.

Absolutely, I loved it here—good placements, but it needs to improve infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 100 percent since it is a government college, everybody gets settled. Package varies from 40k to 60k per month. Mostly, it is government jobs, and some do PG or house jobs; a few get jobs in government hospitals as well. Everybody gets an internship in their own college, mainly as physicians, and internships in other subjects as well.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. Classrooms are average without AC, only a few fans. The library isn't that good, also without AC and congested. The hostel is also congested and difficult to get into during the first year. The canteen is also below average. There is an indoor stadium present and a good field to play football and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and humble; they make you feel like a father or elder brother. They teach both in classrooms and on the grounds with them. The course curriculum is new but good for students. Exams aren’t that difficult, and the pass percentage is almost 99 percent. Rarely, 2 or 4 students out of 180 fail.
Other: I chose this course because it has a secure career in the future and guarantees a job. I wish we had better infrastructure and better distribution of the syllabus. You will get 2 or 3 tours with the college, like an all-India tour, etc.

This is the best college.
Placements: This college has a placement rate of more than 90%. After completing a four-year degree, every medical student is required to complete a one-year internship with a stipend of Rs. 12,800 per month. Almost 80% of students clear NEET PG after graduating.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is lagging. Classrooms are not up to date. There are no air conditioners in the classrooms. Inadequate heating arrangements during the winter make it difficult for students to attend classes. The library is not spacious. It can accommodate only 100 students at a time. Books present in the library are also not of the latest edition. There is no canteen in the college. However, labs are well equipped with the best and latest machines. Wi-Fi is also limited to the library section. The hostel is not good. It requires renovation. The hostel food is decent and affordable.
Faculty: Faculty members are great. All faculty members are well-qualified and excellent at teaching. The MBBS curriculum is very good and balanced. It prepares students in the best way possible. Every year, 4 exams are conducted. There are 3 internal exams and one professional exam. The exams are quite tough. You need to score 50 marks in each subject to pass.

Hostel facilities here are not good compared to other colleges.
Placements: There are 180 students in our batch. Currently, we are in the second year of MBBS. Everyone in our college gets an internship. After the completion of this course, we get a salary of Rs. 50000 per month to Rs. 100000 per month. We get the seats of demonstrators, lecturers, assistant professors, and professors in both clinical and nonclinical branches.
Infrastructure: There are not many facilities. Wi-Fi is available only on college premises. Every classroom has old furniture. The library is small, and it does not have air conditioning. Hostels do not provide good facilities. There are 3 students in a single room. There is a lot of congestion. The food in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is not good. Exams are very difficult. About 90% of students remain depressed because of difficult internal assessments. Around 50% of students fail internal assessments. Final exams are better than internals, so nearly 90% of students pass them.

I am absolutely satisfied with this college as it has been producing the best doctors for years.
Placements: It is a prestigious medical college in this state. It produces the best doctors. Students from this college get placements abroad as well as in the country. It is the best college in terms of academics and research.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is not that good but it is being improved by the authorities. Hostel rooms are good but they are not that great. Games and sports have been improved in a few years. It has the best ground in the state. The mess and canteen are still in process. It will take some time for these things.
Faculty: It has the best faculty members. They are well qualified. They have good teaching skills. This college strictly follows NMC curriculum, and exams are conducted on time. The college conducts annual exams. The curriculum makes students ready for practical fields.
