The admission process for GMC Kottayam involves the following steps:

  • Candidates have to apply for the NEET-UG examination conducted by NTA to take admission to the MBBS course
  • Candidates applying for MBBS will have to take the form online from the official website of Government Medical College, Kottayam
  • Candidates applying for the postgraduate courses have to apply online through the official website of NEET-PG conducted by NBE
  • Candidates should have obtained an MBBS degree from any college recognized by the Medical Council of India for the MD/MS course
  • For MCH, the selection is done based on rank obtained in the NEET-SS examination by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi
  • To apply for UG courses, candidates must have at least passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible
  • Admission is done strictly based on merit in the entrance test

Government Medical College, Kottayam MBBS Admission 2022

Government Medical College, Kottayam offers MBBS at the undergraduate level. MBBS is offered with 4.5 years of course duration with a 1-year compulsory rotating internship

  • All the MBBS seats, including NRI/Management Quota seats, are allotted only by merit under the state quota through counseling conducted by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur
  • Candidates should have the eligibility certificate from KUHS to pursue medical education programs in the state of Kerala

Selection Criteria: Selection for MBBS is done based on NEET-UG scores. The merit list is prepared for all the categories based on candidates’ scores in NEET UG. Candidates who clear the cut-off score set by the college will be called for the admission process

Government Medical College, Kottayam PG Admission 2022: MD, MS

GMC, Kottayam offers a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 21 specializations and a Master of Surgery (MS) degree in 6 specializations. The course duration of MD/MS is 3 years (2 years for those with 2 years recognized diploma in the same specialty).

  • All the MD and MS courses are affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences except for MD Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, MD Anaesthesiology, MD Radio Diagnosis/Radiology, MD General Medicine, MD Psychiatry, MD Family Medicine, MD Emergency Medicine, MD/MS Ophthalmology and MS Orthopaedics which are affiliated to Calicut University
  • Candidates who have passed MBBS from a Medical college which is recognized by the Medical Council of India are eligible for MD/MS
  • Candidate must have completed his/her rotating internship for at least 1 year after passing the MBBS examination on or before April 30 of the respective year are eligible to apply Candidates must have got themselves registered (Provisional or Permanent) with any Medical Council (State or Central) to be eligible
  • Counselling will be conducted by the Director-General of Health Science (DGHS) and the name of candidates who clear the cut-off score of NEET-PG will be forwarded to RM to complete the admission process

Selection Process: Selection to MD/MS is done based on the NEET-PG entrance examination conducted by the DGHS. The merit list will be prepared for all categories based on candidates’ scores in NEET PG

I am satisfied with this college because of its facilities.

Placements: Around 83% of students were placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was Rs 50,000 per month. Around 67% of students got placed in both private and public sector hospitals. It provides focus and direction to the students. The college not only focuses on the academic perspective it also helps students in every field they were interested in. This college has good alumni.

Infrastructure: The college provides free Wi-Fi, good food, medical facilities...
