It's really good if you do well. I would say it's worth it.
Placements: In Polytechnic Diploma, not many students got placements. Almost everyone preferred a graduation degree, though a few were exceptional. Mostly, electrical and mechanical students got jobs, and the college did offer campus placements for them as well. Of course, this was during my time.
Infrastructure: The environment was good, with a huge space around the hostel. But, there was a canteen issue, but trust me, once you leave the hostel, you'll realize that the mess food was much better than you thought. You would find good students around you because admission was based on score.
Faculty: Instead of saying the semester was difficult, I would say that if you studied well, you did not need to worry about your basic concepts during degree placements. It would really help you. As a Computer Science student, you needed the computer fundamentals subject throughout your IT career.
Other: As far as I know, they were updating the curriculum by contacting alumni who were currently working in the industry.
