Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology Highlights 2025
Established in 1966, the Hindustan Institute of Engineering and Technology (HIET), Chennai is run by the Hindustan Engineering Training Centre (HETC) Educational Society. HIET constitutes two colleges, namely Aviation College and Polytechnic College. HIET Polytechnic offers diploma and value-added courses in Engineering while HIET Aviation College offers Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) courses and several other courses to students. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course is approved by the Director General of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Some of the courses provided by the college are AICTE and UGC-approved.
HIET has trained over 42,000 students as Engineers and Technicians. Over 5,000 of them are now working with several Airlines and Aviation industries in India and also in abroad. The college has various smart classrooms, a big music club, hostels, and others. The flagship programmes offered by the college are BSc and diploma courses. Students in HIET go through a tough two-and-a-half (2.5) year curriculum that includes thirty per cent practical training at reputable aviation companies.
HIET AME College in Chennai also boasts state-of-the-art facilities for practical training on various aircraft like Dornier 228, Learjet 24 D, and Cessna 152/172 aircraft and its systems. After completing this course a student can get so many job opportunities in different job roles, such as manufacturer in commercial airlines, air-taxi operators, etc. Additionally, graduates can work in flying schools, armed forces, and commercial long-haul flights.

The HITSEEE paper will be two hours long and consist of 120 questions which the candidates have to solve. The question types will be elective which means MCQs. The exam is divided into three parts, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with 40 marks each. The students preparing for the HITSE entrance examination have to focus more on subjects mathematics, physics and chemistry.
