Not at all. If you get selected for an MBA by the professors of the college, you can be assured that they are sure that you can do justice to the academics while you are studying in that college. If they think otherwise, they will not select you. In my experience students from all specialization join business schools. Hence there is nothing to worry about. I don't think that one year gap will affect your future in anyway. A lot of people in this country take a gap for a lot of reasons. I am sure you would have a reason of your own.
