IIMK- NMIMS - JBIMS. This is the rank I would give on the basis of placements and brand image.

Does IIM-K give too much weightage to the academics? Is it worth to pursue MBA in IT from this institute?

The shortlist criteria changes every year. But IIMk doesn't give too much weightage to academics. There is no MBA in IT stream offered in IIMK. But there are a lot of companies coming for IT strategy role for recruitement.

Yes, you can definitely get a call. There is a major component given to the CAT percentile for shortlisting the candidate. If you get good score in CAT, you will definitely get a call.

To get a call from IIMs, the most important component is CAT score. Try to score as much as possible. If you can score 100 percentile, we will get call from all IIMs. Coming to your second question about maths, you have to prepare for quants.

If you can prepare well for quants and score very good in verbal & LR, you can get 99+ percentile. This is much needed for IIM calls.

As far as IIM Kozhikode is considered, there is no such course. In IIM Indore there is no fees discount. You may get some scholarship but there is no guarrenty of it.

Hi Karan,
Find below the eligibility criteria to pursue MBA from IIMs:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other.
The process may include:
- Written Ability Test (What)
- Group Discussions (GD)
- Personal Interviews (PI).
Performance in CAT examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.
For more information you may refer the admissions policies of IIMs from their respective websites.

Appear for CAT. If you qualify with certain amount of percentile, you will get a call for interview from IIMK. Then you have to appear for the WAT and interview. If you do well in those, you can get admission.
