Life at IIFM as a PGDSM Student.
Placements: All students were placed in the 21-23 batch. Total strength being 18. However there was no support from the institute. Rather the institute puts roadblocks in the placement process of some students. The Placement Committee is headed by the most competent professor in the institute. The students are asked to run the Student Placement Committee but autonomy is snatched when they are unable to promote FM branch at the expenses of some opportunities. The highest package offered was 21LPA (3 years xp in relevant field). The lowest was 7LPA (Fresher). The average was 14.2LPA. Median 12LPA. However, replication of this performance by any other batch is highly doubtful due to the absurd increase in batch size in a short period of time with disregard for market demand. Our batch (some) landed internships and placements from - Internships: Trove Research ( Now MSCI Carbon Markets) Galaxy Surfactant Hindalco Vedanta PwC KPMG Century Textile GAIL The Kabadiwala Urban Company UP Forest Depth. Goodera Care India GIZ VNV EMC Acuity Knowledge Partners Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd. Placements: Morningstar Sustainalytics SnP Global Ramboll Vedanta Infosys Hindalco Birla States IORA Kansai Nerolac PwC Roles Offered: Consultant Manager Analyst .
Infrastructure: Everything this great except the Wi-Fi. It is pathetic. Classrooms are naturally well lit and beautiful. The library is well stocked The mess has all things necessary including a lawn to laze around if you have time to spare after a meal. The canteen is pretty useless. But there is a Sanchi Parlour which has most things that one would need to save off hunger. It is run by Chandu Bhaiyya, of the best person you will meet on campus.
Faculty: Professors are great. Relevant but lacks in practical aspect/ application based teaching. Except for the Industrial visit and some field visits, the course is majorly theory based. However, there is a strong focus on research. Almost everyone passes. The grading is relatively. Hence, bigger batch sizes mean easier scoring.
Other: The campus is lovely. Doubt there are any MBA campuses that can give you a similar experience. The faculty is great if you are self motivated. Practical application of the courses learnt. Clean on the analytical and scientific aspects of managing sustainability in terms of control and levers for different industries.

Our college has an amazing infrastructure, facilities, and good placements.
Placements: Almost 90% of the batch got placed. The highest salary package was 15 LPA and the average was around 7.5 LPA. Most students got placed at livelihood missions in different states, NGOs, and consulting firms. Around 95% of students got internships at research-based organisations, NGOs, and MFIs.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good, clean, and spacious. The infrastructure of the campus is amazing. The quality of food in the mess is good as the mess is run by the student mess committee. The campus has a gym and a sports complex as well.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced and have great knowledge related to their subjects. Some of them are IFS officers, and some hold Ph.D.s from renowned institutes. The course curriculum needs to be updated based on the latest trends in the sector to make students industry-ready.
Other: There are committees like a cultural club, a literary club, a sports club, etc.

IIFM Bhopal
Admission FAQs

Q:   Can I get FPM at IIFM Bhopal with 75 percentile in CAT?
A:

The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) in Bhopal has set a minimum CAT percentile requirement of 85 percentile for admission to both the PGDFM and PGDSM programs. However, the selection process for the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) admission is based on a broader range of entrance exams, including CAT/GMAT/UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET/GATE/ICAR NET or FRI Ph.D. entrance test. Therefore, having a CAT percentile of 75 may not meet the necessary threshold for admission to the FPM programme at IIFM Bhopal, given the specified criteria. Candidates aiming for the FPM programme should ensure that they meet the required percentile in the appropriate entrance exams as outlined by the institute.

Q:   What are the minimum marks required for MBA at IIFM Bhopal 2023?
A:

The MBA admission eligibility criteria at IIFM Bhopal require candidates to hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) and a Master's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) or an equivalent CGPA. The selection process involves two stages. In Stage I, candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in national-level entrance examinations such as CAT, XAT, or GMAT. Moving to Stage II, shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in an Online Presentation and Interview. The final selection is determined by considering the entrance test score, presentation, and performance in the interview. Furthermore, a minimum CAT cutoff of 85 percentile is required for admission to the PGDFM and PGDSM programs at IIFM Bhopal.

Q:   Can I get admission in IIFM Bhopal for FPM with 60% in Class 12th?
A:

The eligibility criteria for the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) in Bhopal require candidates to possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate and a Master's or equivalent degree with First Class, which includes a five-year/four-year integrated Master's program. Notably, there is no specific mention of a minimum requirement for Class 12th marks. However, the selection process for FPM admission is based on entrance exam scores such as CAT, GMAT, UGC-CSIR-JRF, NET, GATE, ICAR NET, or FRI Ph.D. entrance test. Therefore, while Class 12th marks are not explicitly addressed, meeting the stipulated criteria for Bachelor's and Master's degrees and achieving a competitive score in the designated entrance exams are essential for securing admission to the FPM programme at IIFM Bhopal.

Q:   What to do after applying for the IIFM Bhopal Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) course?
A:

Once the students have submitted the application forms, the selection committee at the Indian Institute of Forest Management begins the screening process. The committee conducts the evaluation process based on their score in the national-level entrance test, followed by an institute-level written test and PI session. After that, the institute releases a merit list with the names of the students suited for the programme.
