IEM College Kolkata review.
Placements: The placement percentage is good here but it is deteriorating year by year, which needs to be checked by the placement team of the college. Here, top recruiters like Wipro, TCS, Accenture, etc., come every year with nice placement offers but the numbers are decreasing, which should be checked.
Infrastructure: I have opted for a hostel here but it has given me negative feedback and therefore I will not suggest their hostel due to its strictness and fewer facilities. In case of infrastructure, the building is not air-conditioned, which makes it less preferable otherwise it has no issues.
Faculty: Faculty are great with some exceptions. They also provide faculty feedback for each teacher every year to judge them according to students. The college has a very hectic schedule that can be an issue otherwise other things around the faculty and all are good as compared to other options in this budget.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty members and placement.
Placements: Only 30 percent of students were placed. And all the placements were in marketing only 1 or 2 percent got the chance in finance. At the time of admission they said that Big 4 came to their college, but they didn't come. For placement, only 10 percent of students got placement from the college.
Infrastructure: The amount was so high, but the facilities were very low. The canteen food was very poor. You can't eat that on a daily basis. The private PG was a much better option than this. It's also not so close to the college. I will never recommend the college hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members were not good they did favouritism. Some teachers were also not good in their core subject. They just provided the printed notes. They couldn't help you prepare for the placement or interview. The mentor was also not good enough.

A discipline-focused college along with lots of events, encouraging co-curricular activities.
Placements: Around 90% of students get placed from our college. The highest salary package is around 50 LPA. The minimum package is around 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include TCS, Cognizant, Microsoft, and IBM. Many other top companies that provide good placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The campus is divided into different buildings. They are far from each other, which does not give a very spacious or big campus feeling. It provides a good overall experience due to the adjustments made. It provides small playgrounds and management facilities for students' welfare.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite good and cooperative. They understand students' situations and follow the syllabus strictly. They also conduct good exams. Students have to work hard to score well and prepare themselves for job-level competitive exams.
Other: The course I selected is due to my personal interest in the field of AI. The college offers events twice or thrice every month, which keeps you going.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2027

For me, it is the best college for an MBA in Kolkata, with great faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: Currently, placements have not started for our batch yet. But according to our seniors, the placement percentage is around 80%. The highest package is around 12 LPA, the average is 6–7 LPA, and the lowest is around 2–4 LPA. Top recruiting companies include EY, PwC, KPMG, Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Genpact, ITC, RSM, and various banks.
Infrastructure: For our course, facilities are good. Almost everything is available inside and outside the campus. There is AC in every classroom, Wi-Fi is available, and classrooms are equipped with projectors and smart boards. A huge library is also available. The infrastructure is good overall. Hostels are within walking distance. There is a canteen on top of the building that provides only vegetarian food. The food quality is good, tasty, and hygienic. The medical department is very active. A small ground is available for football and cricket.
Faculty: In my opinion, faculty here is one of the best I have seen. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, and guide students properly. They can also be friendly. They teach very well and complete the syllabus on time. This course curriculum is very relevant and makes students industry-ready. The college conducts many activities like public speaking, presentations, project work, teamwork, and also pushes students for internships. Semester exams are somewhat difficult for me. There are many subjects in each semester.
Other: As I am a commerce student and have completed my graduation in B.Com (Hons). I chose an MBA in Finance to build a career in the finance and accounts domain. I feel no major improvements are required, as everything is already good. Many fests and events take place. The crowd is good, and scholarships like SVMCM are also available.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - Batch of 2029

Good placements, disciplined environment, and quality education.
Placements: IEM is one of the strongest colleges in West Bengal for BCA placements, but students should keep realistic expectations. In the last few years, they have claimed to provide 100% placement. They do have a high cut-off for placement eligibility. Average students are expected to maintain a good CGPA; average job packages range from 3 LPA to 8 LPA. This is the average package expectation based on practical skills and academics. The placement department is highly active and starts training students from the first semester itself. The placement faculty members are very helpful.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is clean across the Ashram Campus, Management Campus, and Gurukul Campus. There is a good water supply, and classrooms in the Ashram Campus have AC. Students have access to Wi-Fi, and the speed is decent. Labs are properly equipped and functional.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. They have a proper understanding of what they teach. The course structure is still slightly following MAKAUT University guidelines. Faculty members also provide extra classes and help students with their studies. Though exams are quite tough, at least 50% is required to pass, and paper checking is strict.
Other: I was previously from a commerce background, so BCA was aligned with my IT future. As I am from the Ashram Campus, I can say the campus size may be small, but it is sufficient for studying. There is an indoor playroom and a basketball court. Events are conducted occasionally, including sports, technical, and non-technical activities.

Satisfied with faculty.
Placements: Around 90–95% of students from our Computer Science and Engineering branch successfully secure placements. While massive off-campus packages occasionally cross the 50 LPA mark. The highest on-campus package is around 15–20 LPA. The average package hovers around 5.5–7.5 LPA, and the lowest package stands at 3.4–4 LPA. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Capgemini offer a major portion of the placements. Over 75% of students secure internships at firms like IEM Labs or through external hackathons.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and library are good, but the internet is very poor. Even mobile networks like Jio do not work properly inside the classrooms. The quality of food is good, and a variety of meals is provided in the mess. It includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options on different days.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. The semester and mid-semester exams are quite difficult because of the short gap between them. The pass percentage is good, but very difficult to achieve.
