September 12. 2024: International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) organised two noteworthy tree plantation drives in August 2024 to achieve net zero carbon emissions. The tree plantation drives were held in collaboration with community leaders, locals, and students. This initiative aims to promote the cause of a sustainable environment and subsequently raise awareness about the significance of tree plantation to combat climate change.

1. Plantation Drive at Muthugadahalli Government Primary School (16th August 2024)

The first plantation drive took place at Muthugadahalli Government Primary School on August 16, 2024, wherein 100 tree saplings were planted. The goal was to complete the plantation activity within an hour, however, the sapling plantation event was completed within 26 minutes as a result of the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and local leaders.

This well-coordinated and on-time effort of all the involved members was a testament to everyone’s commitment to a greener future.

The saplings chosen were of indigenous species best suited to the local environment, ensuring a positive ecological impact on the region. Through this activity of planting these trees, the community not only contributed to reducing carbon emissions but also enhanced biodiversity and improved the area's air quality.

2. Plantation Drive at Government First Grade College, Chikkaballapur (24th August 2024)

The second plantation drive was held on 24th August 2024 at the Government First Grade College in Chikkaballapur. The same alacrity was shown by students, local leaders, and community members as another set of 100 tree saplings was planted within the span of 24 minutes while the ask was to complete the task within an hour.

This event further highlighted the dedication of the IIBS community and local residents toward environmental conservation. The saplings were carefully chosen to ensure long-term benefits to the local ecosystem, contributing to the reduction of carbon footprints in the region.

Impact and Commitment to Sustainability

The Tree Plantation Drives were part of IIBS’s broader initiative to back the cause of a sustainable environment and achieve net-zero carbon emissions. IIBS showcased the power of collective action in tackling climate change by organising these events. It is to note that trees play an important role in sequestering carbon dioxide, improving air quality and fostering biodiversity, which makes these initiatives essential for tackling global warming.

IIBS is focused and committed to undertake similar efforts in the future, with more plantation drives and planned sustainability projects. These actions will not only benefit the environment but also instill a sense of responsibility and environmental awareness among students and the social community.

Excellent placement support.

Placements: Placement at IIBS plays a major role in shaping my career. The team is highly supportive and works continuously to bring quality companies to the campus. They provide regular training in aptitude, technical skills mock, and resume building, which helped me gain more confidence. I'm proud to say that I got placed for a good package, which reflects the department.

Overall, it’s just a normal, average college.

Placements: The placement scenario is average. Sometimes, faculty use their personal connections to bring companies, which might be better than what the placement cell arranges. The placement cell mostly brings average companies, and placements are not guaranteed. Students are often encouraged to seek opportunities themselves to find good companies. Most of the startups that visit may provide jobs outside your domain.

Small infrastructure with extensive knowledge and scope.

Placements: Student placement is around 90-95%, and it depends on the performance of the student in the interview. The median of the college is between 6 and 8 LPA. Approximately 95% got internships. I got a project coordinator role. Before my final placement, the college allowed us to do jobs.

Good academics with decent placements and supportive faculty - IIBS college review 2026.

Placements: I am currently pursuing PGDM (2024 - 2026). Recently, I got placed in a 14 LPA job in a company called Happy Equity. Nearly 60 to 70 percent of students have already been placed this year. The top recruiting companies are Deloitte, IBM, Infosys, etc. I have a good experience here, and the placement department is supportive.
