In order to be admitted to J.T. Mahajan College of Engineering for their B.E./B.Tech, courses candidates have to write the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Admission process usually starts in May-June sessions every year. Applicants should have recognised the Board of School education 10+2 examination with minimum 50 % aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. The college also provides admission to a further 20% seats under management controlled quota. 90 Candidates are admitted through counseling wherein they secure seats according to their merit rank. The college provides the admission to B.E./B.Tech programs in 5 specializations with 300 available seats but the fees for the programs is about INR 1,20,000 per year.

Academic research and activities can be well supported through Wifi connectivity throughout the campus, and student support services can include counselling and placement assistance to create a holistic environment for learning. Altogether, there is a concern for this holistic development.

Mahajan College of Engineering, those who have registered for MHT CET and MHT CET for the academic year 2024 – 2024, from January 16 to March 31. Counseling was conducted from July 25, 2024.
