M.Sc. in Zoology - Batch of 2026

Jamshedpur Co-Operative College can be good.
Placements: There are no such major placement drives organised especially for the M.Sc. in Zoology. Some workshops do happen here and there, but there is no company to recruit any student, it totally depends on the UGC NET Zoology with EVS or CSIR NET examinations for the JRF qualification, which is kind of the only major future after degree completion.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, starting with classrooms and the library, these are the only good things that offer something for students. But there is no Wi-Fi. Talking about labs, which are just a room with few equipment, spots and specimens are pretty organised, but most of the chemicals and some important tools and equipment are either not available or not working properly. Talking about M.Sc., it doesn't look like any M.Sc. lab. The HOD has been trying to make it better, but it's taking too much time. Hostel and canteen are good. Inter-college tournaments are held regularly for every sport.
Faculty: Talking about M.Sc., our HOD is Dr. Amar Kumar. He is good when he teaches well. Other assistant professors are mostly occupied with work for the university. Most of the time, they are unable to take classes due to meetings, examinations, etc. They are good when they teach, but it's not so regular nowadays except Amar Sir. 45-50% is the pass percentage.
Other: I have done B.Sc. in Zoology and for the continuation of that course I have chosen this course. It definitely offers big opportunities in the research line or in teaching fields like professor, lab assistant, etc. This course is mostly dependent on lab practices. I would love it if people also focus on lab practicals as of now, it's just on paper, not in practice as it should have been.

This college is value for money.
Placements: I am from B.Sc. Zoology (2020-2023). Around 10-15% of students got placed in roles like lab assistant, field worker, or medical sales. The highest package is around 3 LPA, and average is 2 LPA. Most students opt for higher studies or prepare for government jobs. Placement support is limited.
Infrastructure: Our Zoology department has basic lab facilities. Classrooms are decent and spacious. College has a central library with helpful books for science students. There's no hostel, but the canteen provides simple food. A small medical room and a sports ground are available for students.
Faculty: Teachers in the Zoology department are well-qualified and supportive. They explain topics clearly and help during the practical. The syllabus is updated and useful for competitive exams. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and the pass percentage is generally high.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Zoology because I love studying animals and nature. The course is interesting, and the faculty members are supportive. Regular college events, NCC, and a peaceful campus make student life enjoyable. I wish there were more practical sessions and career guidance. The crowd is decent. College is well-connected. Scholarships are available for eligible students.

It is a cooperative college. They are developing fine minds.
Placements: Placements are pretty average. We can’t guarantee placement, but due to all the fundamental and advanced studies, students can secure a better salary package after completing their studies. They are working in a well-reputed company with better infrastructure.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is quite good. The atmosphere and college vibes are enjoyable. For sports, there are many options for developing skills in various activities. I stayed in the hostel, as I am not from Jharkhand, and the facilities provided by the college are quite satisfactory, including food.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified in their fields. They are well educated in their topics, and students can easily grab the topics. Basics and everything are covered by them without any hesitation and they repeat everything for non-understanding students.

The reputation of the college was very good till 2018. Delays in exams are a case of decline today.
Placements: Different courses have different placement statistics. I am enrolled in a Bachelor of Science with a Physics major. My course does not offer any direct placements. However, students who are placed are mainly from the B.Sc. IT branch. Job Mela is common in the college.
Infrastructure: The laboratories are well-equipped with modern apparatus. There is a Library in the college premises with a large seating capacity. The library is well maintained, with group discussion rooms. A digital library is also present. The department has its library, also. There is free wi-fi for the students of the college. Two conference halls and one large examination hall are present, along with four theatres. Classrooms do not have air conditioning, but are clean enough. The hostel facility is present just for ST/SC students.
Faculty: Professors are very talented, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind towards the growth of students. Especially the HOD of Physics and professors of the Zoology and Botany department are very sincere and devoted to the growth of students. The examination system is very bad because the university it is affiliated with is very irregular with the exams.
Other: Campus life is not so attractive. It is a general degree college but a government constituent college of Kolhan University.

Our beloved college Kolhan.
Placements: All the students of our branch were placed in companies like SBI, ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tata Power Ltd. Our placements were good; each one was selected, and some were selected for internships at TCS and Tata Power, while SBI and ICICI placed directly in companies for on-roll jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college and hostel was very good, as it was newly constructed. The hostel was spacious, with two people in each room. Rooms were equipped with bathrooms, almirahs, fans, ACs, study tables, and all amenities for students. We could also cook inside our rooms.
Faculty: The teachers and faculty members of our college were knowledgeable, helpful, and qualified enough to teach the students. We could call them anytime if we needed help. Exams were easier for those who studied and tough for those who didn't prepare.
Other: This course is beneficial for the future, as it is for Chartered Accountants or jobs in banks. Our college was good for placing us in such big companies.

Very best and affordable college for this course.
Placements: This college is one of the best for B.Com. (Hons.) courses, and after completing the degree, there was very good placement. Many students are placed in large companies; there packages are very high. This was the very best college for Hons students who want to become accountants in the future.
Infrastructure: This was the very best college for hons students who want to become accountant in future. This college was fully furnished, affordable and had facilities. There were different departments for different courses and free Wi-Fi service for all students. The classrooms were very neat and clean.
Faculty: The semester exam was tough and the pass percentage is very good in our college. There was a very good teacher who taught us very well. There are many types of courses, and there are different exams for different courses. All the exams are taken very well in this college.
