Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Batch of 2026
3.4
The reputation of the college was very good till 2018. Delays in exams are a case of decline today.
Placements: Different courses have different placement statistics. I am enrolled in a Bachelor of Science with a Physics major. My course does not offer any direct placements. However, students who are placed are mainly from the B.Sc. IT branch. Job Mela is common in the college.
Infrastructure: The laboratories are well-equipped with modern apparatus. There is a Library in the college premises with a large seating capacity. The library is well maintained, with group discussion rooms. A digital library is also present. The department has its library, also. There is free wi-fi for the students of the college. Two conference halls and one large examination hall are present, along with four theatres. Classrooms do not have air conditioning, but are clean enough. The hostel facility is present just for ST/SC students.
Faculty: Professors are very talented, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind towards the growth of students. Especially the HOD of Physics and professors of the Zoology and Botany department are very sincere and devoted to the growth of students. The examination system is very bad because the university it is affiliated with is very irregular with the exams.
Other: Campus life is not so attractive. It is a general degree college but a government constituent college of Kolhan University.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Batch of 2024
2.0
Dissatisfied with the faculty and their way of handling academics.
Placements: Very few students get placed here like 10 in 100. Although the degree opens up a gate for applying into various government exams. There are near to no internship facilities as far as I have examined here. Packages are also not more than 6 LPA. So overall not impressive at all.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are really nice. Other departments are well furnished. No Wi-Fi is available and canteen is poor too. It has a large ground which is a good point. Various sports are often conducted here.
Faculty: Some teachers are quite hard to handle. They keep on scolding us for no reason plus Maths faculty is horrible. They are themselves confused with the calculus still running their department. Exams aren't on the tough side.

Review of Jamshedpur Co-Operative College.
Placements: There are approximately 150 students in B.Sc. mathematics honors. The highest package offered was 7.5 LPA. From the information I got, the average package offered is 3-4 LPA. I am currently studying, so I don't know much about companies that come for placements. I can do a master's degree in mathematics. I want to prepare for commission rank jobs and do internships in different companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is better than some other colleges located in this area. The library of our college has course-related books and other life-changing books free for reading. The classrooms are quite big. The college has a huge auditorium hall. NCC is also available. Many inter-school and college competitions are held. A good canteen is available. There is no Wi-Fi facility now, but our teachers give us hope that they were to add Wi-Fi facility soon this year.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified. They pay extra attention to those who are weak in their subjects, but the offline classes are not satisfactory. If the college reopens, we can explore as much as we can. If you prepare well, you can score better in exams. The pass percentage is approximately 65-70%.
Other: I chose degree in mathematics as I have an interest in mathematics since childhood, and I can see myself as a Maths teacher in future. The best thing about this course that if you want to explore mathematics, you can do masters in mathematics. Events and fests are held here. If you have good academics, you will get a free scholarship from our university. Before covid, the crowd was high.

I suggest you take admission if you have a financial problem.
Placements: About 50% of students get placement from our course. Top recruiting companies like Tata Steel, Tisco, and PEBCO visit our college to hire students from our course.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities. Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, classrooms, halls, labs, library, etc. The building is well-maintained and in good condition. Some classrooms need to be repaired. Fans and light are also needed to be replaced in some classrooms. It also has a large playground.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-qualified. They are also helpful to students. Their teaching quality is above average. Teachers conduct classes seriously and also help students in their doubt. Exams are a little tough as it is set by Kolhan University. We need to study seriously to get marks. But the only problem is that teachers are less in number as compared to too many students.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my own opinion. It is a government college, so I suggest you do not expect much from it.

I am satisfied with the college because of the good teaching staff and placements provided.
Placements: Our college provided internship. One of the best ways of increasing your chances of finding employment after graduation is to participate in an internship during your school years. You can gain hands-on experience in your chosen field, significantly increase your network contacts, and learn corporate cultures, environment and structures. However, it's also important that you put in the effort to find the right internship for you. Around 70-80% of the students got placed from college. Top recruiters of our college were Tata Steel, Tata Motors and other small subsidiaries in Jamshedpur. The highest salary package offered was close to 10 LPA, and the average salary package ranges from 4.5 LPA to 5 LPA. The recruited students first go through the internship.
Infrastructure: Our college had different buildings for different departments like science, commerce, and arts with specified labs and smart classrooms in all of them. There was a library for all departments, but the library of the art department was huge and had many books. There was a huge ground to play cricket, football, etc. The quality of the food served was pretty good in the canteen.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college were quite experienced yet friendly. Most of the students were from the middle- class fee charged was also low. Some of the professors had to be replaced because of their age. But teachers were well qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum does make students industry-ready.
Other: I opted for science because I want to get into technology and research field for the welfare of our nation and our society. Even I have a lot of interest in science. Events and tech fest are organised every year. We also have a science show for every semester. I feel very lucky to be in this college.

Great college for overall experience with amazing professors.
Placements: I completed a B.Sc. Physics (2021-2024). Around 10-20% of students got placed in roles like lab assistant, field worker, or medical sales. The highest package was around 3 LPA. The average was 2 LPA. Most students opted for higher studies or prepared for government jobs. Placement support was limited.
Infrastructure: The Physics department had basic lab facilities. Classrooms were decent and spacious. The college had a central library with helpful books for Science students. There was no hostel, but the canteen provided simple food. A small medical room and a sports ground were available for students.
Faculty: Teachers in the Physics department were well-qualified and supportive. They explained topics clearly and helped during practicals. The syllabus was updated and is useful for competitive exams. Semester exams were moderate in difficulty. The pass percentage was generally high.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Physics because I loved studying animals and nature. The course was interesting, and faculty members were supportive.

Our college is best in Jamshedpur in the name of sports and extra curricular activities.
Placements: The batches of ours have very less placement rate because at that time, we all were going through pandemic. So very less companies came there, also they were not milestone companies. I have chosen for Swiggy data Science internship with stipend amount 300.
Infrastructure: Library was not updated still they contain old books with yellowish pages. Wi-Fi will only give 49 mb per device/day. Labs were good except Chemistry lab. The acids are expired. No mess is available. Sports are the best thing about this college.
Faculty: All the college members are supportive and qualified as well. Semester exam is not that much tough to clear as we are from KU. As I already mentioned before, our college basically and mainly focuses on sports and health.

Review of Jamshedpur Co-operative College.
Placements: About 30% to 40% of students get placed in our college with packages ranging from 1.5 LPA to 3.2 LPA. The top recruiters are Tata, Wipro, and so on. However, the scoring percentage needs to be above 85% to get eligible for internships and hiring in placements.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are fully furnished with air-conditioners. We have 24X7 security in the hostel. Labs and the library are well maintained. The hostel is not so good and there are always some problems regarding Wi-Fi and food. The canteen doesn't give us a variety of options as it provides limited and expensive things to eat.
Faculty: The faculty members in our college are one of the best. They are very helpful and friendly with students. They always listen to students in any case and support their students. Some courses are pretty outdated. Semester exams are normal like any other institution with the same records of backlog and repeat numbers. The pass percentage is 45% including external and internal exams.
