Kristu Jayanti University facilitates scholarships through Government, Private and Institutional schemes. The Student Welfare Office and Scholarship Committee manages all scholarships. All scholarships are evaluated each semester and require attendance and academic performance. Students must apply separately through the official scholarship portal.
1. Jayantian Achievement Scholarship (JAS)
This is for excellence in academics. Eligibility is minimum 85% attendance and 75% aggregate in CIA and End Semester Exams. For BCom/ BBA / BCA students, 80% and above marks are considered. The benefit is fee waiver or cash award as decided by the committee. It is a merit-based scholarship and is renewed yearly.
2. Jayantian Talent Scholarship (JTS)
This is for excellence in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Eligibility is minimum 80% attendance and 60% aggregate. Students must have won 1st / 2nd / 3rd prize at University / State / National level events. The benefit is INR 10,000 or fee concession. Prize certificates must be submitted for verification.
3. Jayantian Upliftment Scholarship (JUS)
This is for financially disadvantaged students. Eligibility is minimum 80% attendance and 60% aggregate. Annual family income should be up to Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 2 Lakhs. The benefit is 50% tuition fee support or financial assistance. Income certificate is mandatory for this scheme.
4. Jayantian Determination Scholarship (JDS)
This is for Divyangjan (differently-abled) students. Eligibility is certificate from competent authority and minimum 50-60% marks. Minimum 75-80% attendance is required. The benefit is financial assistance as per committee decision. It supports inclusive education at KJU.
5. Government Scholarships
KJU facilitates government scholarships via National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and Karnataka SSP Portal. Backward Class Category scholarships are for Cat-IIA, IIIA, Cat-I students with income below Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 2.5 Lakhs. SC/ST Post-Matric and Karnataka Rajyotsava Scholarships are also applicable. Amount varies as per government norms.
6. Research Fellowships (PhD - Full-Time only)
Full-time scholars get a monthly fellowship of Rs. 15,000 for a maximum of 30 months after coursework. They also get an annual scholarship of Rs. 10,000 per year. Contingency grant is up to Rs. 20,000 per year for STEM and Rs. 10,000 for non-STEM. Scholars with UGC-JRF / CSIR-JRF get a 33% annual fee waiver. Part-time scholars are not eligible for monthly fellowship.
