MCKVIE Hosts Successful Phase 5 of Innovator's Launchpad Program

March 4, 2025: The fifth phase of the Innovator's Launchpad Program (ILP) was successfully conducted at MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) under the guidance of Mr. Sayantan Mukherjee, Innovation Coach and Founder of Innovator's Garage. The event was organized in collaboration with Mahindra Technical Academy, Chennai.

A total of 24 shortlisted teams participated in the session, where they were trained to convert human challenges into precise technical problem statements. Using a TRIZ-based problem formulation approach within the Design Thinking framework, the participants gained valuable insights into systematic innovation.

This session was a crucial step in equipping young innovators with structured problem-solving techniques, enabling them to tackle real-world challenges with creative and practical solutions.

December `13, 2024: The MCKV Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE) successfully conducted Phase 3 of the Innovators' Launchpad Program (ILP), continuing its mission to foster innovation and creativity among students. The session was led by Sayantan Mukherjee, a renowned Innovation Coach and Founder of Innovators' Garage, in collaboration with the Mahindra Technical Academy, Chennai.

This phase saw active participation from 24 shortlisted teams, selected from an initial pool of 51. The focus of the session was the Design Thinking Process, with a particular emphasis on the crucial Empathy Stage. Students explored the multifaceted challenges faced by their target users, analyzing rational, emotional, and social aspects to develop a deeper understanding of their needs.

To bring this process to life, participants engaged in role-playing exercises, simulating real-world problems to enhance their ability to empathize with users effectively. The interactive and hands-on approach encouraged students to step into the shoes of end-users, fostering creative problem-solving skills and teamwork. The program received positive feedback, with students commending the session for its practical insights and immersive learning experience. The ILP continues to serve as a platform for young innovators to refine their ideas and address real-world challenges.

MCKVIE Successfully Completes Phase 1 of Innovators' Launchpad Program, Inspiring Over 400 Students

September 27, 2024: MCKV Institute of Engineering successfully concluded Phase 1 of its Innovators' Launchpad Program (ILP), titled "The WHY and WHERE of Innovation," on the 23rd and 24th of September 2024.

The event, led by MCKVIE alumnus Mr. Sayantan Mukherjee—an Innovation Coach and Founder of Innovators' Garage—was organized in collaboration with the Mahindra Technical Academy, Chennai. Over 400 students from diverse academic streams participated in the program, which was aimed at fostering creativity and innovation among the next generation of engineers and thinkers.

September 20, 2024: MCKVIE's Department of Management Science successfully conducted an expert lecture on "An Introduction to IT Industries and Leadership". Mr. Ayon Chakraborty, Senior Manager for Service Flows and Manager for Global IT Service Management at Scania in Sweden, was the session's keynote speaker.

Mr. Chakraborty’s session provided valuable insights into leadership styles and practices within the global IT industry. He discussed how IT leaders manage teams across diverse geographical regions and navigate complex challenges in the technology sector. MCKV Institute of Engineering Hosts "Paving the Way to Innovation" Workshop

Jun 05, 2024: The MCKV Institute of Engineering's Basic Science Department held a "Clearing the Way to Development" workshop on May 21-22, 2024, aimed at fostering original thinking and problem-solving skills among first-year students. The event, which included 108 student groups, showcased innovative projects developed over two semesters. 34 teams advanced to the final stage, including AI-powered soil testing kits, wind energy fans, mental health apps, and self-cleaning solar panels. The workshop fostered a culture of innovation, encouraging critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. The winners will be honoured at the upcoming Induction Programme.

MCKVIE Student Supriyo Ghosh's Breakthrough Project Elevates Aerospace Technology 

February 29, 2024: Supriyo Ghosh, a pre-final year MCKV Institute of Engineering student seeking a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, has become a pathfinder in the field of aerospace technology with an astounding display of intelligence and inventiveness. Ghosh recently led a ground-breaking effort on AI-driven methods for autonomous landing site recognition in partnership with the esteemed U.R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) in Bengaluru. 

Ghosh's idea, which he is collaborating on alongside renowned aerospace specialist Ritu Karidhal Srivastava—fondly known as the Rocket Woman for her crucial contribution to India's Mars Orbiter Mission—marks the beginning of a new age in space exploration. Under the knowledgeable direction of Srivastava and with unwavering dedication, Ghosh used computer science to create algorithms and systems that could autonomously choose the best landing places for spacecraft.
