National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh was established in 1978 to provide professional and educational services in the areas of Information, Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT). The institution is run by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. It currently offers more than 60 short-term as well as long-term courses to impart training programmes aimed at skill up-gradation in emerging areas of Electronics and Information Technology. NIELIT Chandigarh entered into an MoU with IIT Ropar in 2017 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship driven opportunities so as to launch the skill-oriented and tailor-made courses in line with the government's vision of Skill India, Digital India and Make in India.
NIELIT Chandigarh has started a five-month Finishing School Programme in the disciplines of Electronics and IT. The programme is started by NIELIT Chandigarh in collaboration with IIT Roopar to upskill the students of Computer Science, Electronics and IT.
The number of seats available for this course is 15 per batch.
NIELIT Chandigarh offers various skill-enhancement courses from basic to advanced level. The admission process of all the programmes are presented in brief below:

NIELIT Chandigarh offers long-term certificate and diploma programmes in the field of IT, Electronics and Multimedia. The duration of these programmes ranges from six months to one year.
