No, you can't do MDes. as your eligibility doesn't fulfill the category for M.Des. For doing M.Des you need to have either a B.Des or B.Ftech degree. You can undergo a B.Des degree and then M.Des but as per your qualification i.e. Diploma in apparel manufacturing technology won't help you to get an MDes.

It all depends on what you are good at. But before that, you need to know the difference. MFM - is to develop leadership and managerial talents in the fields of management, marketing, merchandising, and retailing, honed specifically for the requirements of the garment export, fashion lifestyle, and retail sectors. Students undergo in-depth education in management, marketing, buying, merchandising (retail and export), retail operations, forecasting, international marketing, international trade practices, and project formulation. The Jobs are mainly managerial types in Retail / Exports / Buying Houses etc. They are very well paid. MFT - In the initial courses students are oriented towards the apparel manufacturing industry as they learn various operations and processes involved. Concurrently the programme imparts managerial concepts related to operations. Here the Jobs are in the Fashion Industry (Merchandising etc) - Export houses / Buying houses etc. They are very well paid.

NIFT is a government college in designing field which offers admission only on clearing DAT prelims & Mains, situation test.

Candidates must have passed an under graduate degree from any institution/university recognized by law in India or, candidates who have diploma in UG design from NIFT/NID only, are eligible or, Candidates who have passed diploma course of three years from NIFT/NID are also eligible.
