GAT is a written entrance exam that is common for all courses. The GAT paper will be conducted in a computer-based mode. It carries 30% weightage for the B.Des and M.Des courses, whereas, for the other PG courses, the GAT carries 70% weightage. Interestingly, the GAT carries 100% weightage for the B.F.Tech program. Here we bring you previous years' questions for practice, and to improve one's time-management and problem-solving skills.
 
Sample Questions for NIFT Entrance Exam GAT
Currently, 18 NIFTs will participate in the NIFT 2024 admission process. The National Institutes of Design (NIFTs) are the premier design colleges in the country.
As per the India Today Rankings of Best Fashion Colleges 2023, eight of the top 10 positions are occupied by NIFTs. The Top three positions are occupied by - NIFT Delhi (Rank 1), NIFT Mumbai (Rank 2), and NIFT Bengaluru (Rank 3).
The only outliers in the Top 10 are Pearl Academy Delhi (Rank 8) and Symbiosis Institute of Design (Rank 10).
So, it is easy to see why competition is high, and getting into a NIFT is so difficult, especially if you want to get into the top NIFTs, like NIFT Delhi.
One way to improve one's chances of acing the NIFT 2024 exam is by solving sample papers and previous years' questions NIFT papers. This exercise has multi-prong benefits. For instance, the sample papers can provide insights into the difficulty level of the exam, the types of questions asked, the marking scheme, and more.
In addition, if sample papers are solved smartly, one can improve one's problem-solving ability and time-management skills.
The NIFT entrance exam is a TWO-stage process. The first stage of the NIFT 2024 entrance exam includes the written tests - the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates have to appear in a Situation Test/Personal Interview.
The final merit list of NIFT 2024 will be prepared by giving weightage to the written tests and the Personal Interview/ Situation Test.

The NTA hasn’t yet specified a date for the release of the NIFT 2024 answer key (FINAL). But with the objection filing process now over, it is likely that the final key will be released anytime soon. 

The last date to file objections against the draft key was February 19, 2024 (11 pm).
