The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release category wise merit lists. These includes the Common Merit Rank (CMR), GEN EWS Rank List, OBC NCL Rank List, SC Rank List, ST Rank List, CMR PwD List, OBC NCL PwD Rank List, SC PwD Rank List, and ST PwD Rank list. The general category candidate will not be considered for admission under reserved category seats. Fashion technology is essentially any innovative tech that creates contemporary tools for the industry, whether they improve fashion production or consumption.

NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.

Though there is an option to do MBA in fashion design. But as you have already done that one option for you is to get double post-graduation i.e. by doing MBA in fashion designing. You can always try at a state college and improve your skills. You can also try private colleges like pearl, raffles, etc. Private colleges have equally good courses and facilities. Don't lose hope and remember that things happen for a reason. Try to do internships while you're waiting to apply. Start working on projects, work for your community etc. All this looks good on your portfolio.
