NIT Coimbatore Admission 2025: Eligibility, Selection Process, Fee & Dates

No, direct admission is not possible at NIT Coimbatore. The eligibility criteria to apply for the undergraduate courses is Class 12 with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exams are TNEA and others. The eligibility criteria to apply for the postgraduate courses is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is TANCET MBA and CEETA. Apply as soon as the admissions are open as the seats are limited and the candidates applying for admission are many.

NIT Coimbatore is not difficult to get admission at. The Institute offers admission based on merit and entrance, depending on the course. Shortlisted candidates then receive TNEA counselling for admission to any of the BTech specialisation. Similarly, for admission to MBA or MTech, candidates are shortlisted based on TANCET score. As per 3rd Round of Seat Allotment, the closing rank has been released for BTech in Civil Engineering and BTech in Food Technology. The cutoff for the students belonging to the General All India Quota stood at 164329 and 122024, respectively, for the above-mentioned courses.
