We are having a letter grading system it goes like for the grading of the students based on the performance as per the evaluation scheme and Later Grades shall be awarded. The faculty awards the grades with the highest grade SA then AA, AB and it goes like that. The marks system is not relatively in NIT Sikkim and you will be awarded genuinely according to your individual performance. How SGPA is calculated (semester marking)? It is the weighted average of grade points secured by the student in the credit courses taken by him and is given by the expression:SGPA = (1/ Ct ) CiGPi, I = 1where, n is the number of credit courses registered and passed by the student duringthe semester, GPiis the grade point secured by him/ her in the ith course with a credit value of Ci and Ct is the total credit earned in the semester. CGPA (overall grading)-It is the accumulated weighted average grade point of a student over the semesters starting from his/ her joining the programme taking into account all the credit courses registered and passed by him/her. N CGPA = ( 1/ C ) Ci GPi, I = 1where, N is the total number of credit courses registered and completed by the student with pass grade over the semesters starting from his/ her joining theprogramme, GPi is the grade point secured by him/her in the ith course with acredit value of Ci and C is total credit earned till the semester.

The JEE is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).To secure admission to NIT Meghalaya through JEE, you would need to follow the general process outlined below:JEE Main Examination: You must appear for the JEE Main examination, which assesses your knowledge in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The exam is conducted by the NTA.Qualifying JEE Main: You must achieve the minimum cutoff score set by the NTA to be eligible for admission to NIT Meghalaya. The cutoff score varies each year and is determined based on various factors such as the difficult level of the exam, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats.JoSAA Counseling: After the JEE Main results are unannounced, you need to register for the Joint Seat Location Authority (JoSAA) counseling. JoSAA conducts the centralized counseling process for admissions to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes.Choice Filling and Seat Allotment: During JoSAA counseling, you need to fill your preferred choices of NITs and courses based on your rank and eligibility. Seat allotment is done considering your JEE Main rank, category, availability of seats, and the choices you have filled.Reporting and Document Verification: Once a seat is allotted to you, you must report to the designed reporting center and complete the document verification process. You will need to carry necessary documents, such as JEE Main admit card, rank card, counseling registration form, class 10th and 12th mark sheet, category certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents.

Yes, if we talk about National Institute of Meghalaya, there are few kind of scholarship available, basically it depends on the category from which you belong . If you are from SC or ST category you don't need to pay any tuition fee you just have to pay hostel and mess, and apart from that, you will get government scholarship from various scheme as per my knowledge what my friends are getting is around 60-70 thousand per year so from that only you can pay your college fee. If you are from general or OBC category then it depends on your family income, if your family is making less than 2 Lacs you don't have to pay tuition fees but apart from this you can't get any other scholarship. If your family income is more that 2 Lacs and less than 6-8 Lacs, I don't know exactly then you have to pay only 1/3 of tuition fee.

In National Institute of Technology Meghalaya if we talk about internal exam it consist of assignment, viva, class test 1, class test2, and mid term examination. As we are university so there is no such terms like internal and external examinations. Marking scheme
2 class test 30 marks
2 assignment 20 marks
mid term examination 50 marks and end term examination 100
overall 200 marks in which 70 is mandatory if suppose you missed some of the exams they these are the process
if some one is missing assignment or class test he will get zero or he can request to the authorities for the re-exam but in case if you are missing end term you will get baclogs. If you are3 missing mid term examination you have to talk to authorities and sometimes you will get to appear for exam in the end of the semester and sometimes they don't consider it depends I don't think there is any such fixed rule. But most of the time the3y allow to sit for the exam. And after all this if you are not abel to get 70 then you will get back but most of the time they don't give back and somehow students manage to pass.

Hostel facilities are not bad but not too good it depends upon several factors that from where you are if you are from home state Meghalaya itself its quite good but if you are from other states the food be little problem to you, other factors if you consider you will get wi-fi, water purifier is there, geysers are there, electricity is available most of the times. In a room nearly 2-3 peoples are sitting. Currently its operating from a temporary campus so all hostels are not at the same place for every course like Ph.D. M.Sc. B.Tech they all are having different hostels, and they are far apart from each other. But possibly we are shifting to our permanent campus to sohra, hostel facilities will be quite good there but again it will be in out area so you will not be getting any thing out there. I think the worst thing about the hostel is the food especially if you are a vegetarian.

It's not possible to determine which is better between CSE from AU (Andhra University) and Civil Engineering from NIT-Meghalaya, as both are well-respected institutions in their respective fields. It ultimately depends on your personal interests, career goals, and the specific curriculum and opportunities offered by each institution. It's recommended to research both programs thoroughly, compare their curriculum, faculty, research opportunities, and career prospects before making a decision. You may also want to consider factors such as location, cost, and overall reputation of the institution.

Quality of any institute depends on the students be it IIT, IIIT, NIT etc. The Brand value they create depends upon factors like top class faculty members present, funds received from government etc. However such factors just ACT as catalyst initially, while the long term success depends only on the students. It's the students who execute the goals of the institute following the mentors advice. Brand value attracts good students which raises the bar of the institute gradually as time passes by. Basically the equation is
Good students. Successful students. Bright Alumni. Better placements and the whole cycle repeats itself. I will suggest you to join any institute and raise it is level. Study in true spirit of gaining knowledge and nothing else, success will follow you.
