The college has supportive and experienced faculty, structured curriculum, good infrastructure.
Placements: For the B.A. Honors in English at Prafulla Chandra College, approximately 50% of students secure placements. The highest package is around 4.2 LPA, with an average of 2.3 LPA. Nearly 45% of students obtain internships. Roles include content writing, teaching, banking, and IT.
Infrastructure: The department has well maintained classrooms. They properly equipped labs, a good library, and Wi-Fi. It supports the smooth learning. The hostel facilities are comfortable and clean, with decent security. The mess and canteen provides a hygienic and satisfactory food with variety of options. Medical facilities are accessible when needed. The campus also has good sports and games facilities. It encourages healthy and active lifestyle.
Faculty: Faculty is supportive and knowledgeable. Some could be more engaging. The curriculum is well structured. It covers core concepts, but needs more practical and updated content. Exam system is organized with moderate difficulty. That fairly tests understanding.
Other: I chose this because it matches my interests and career goals. The best part is strong foundation and skill development it provides. I wish there is more practical exposure, an updated syllabus, and better real-world application.

Review of Review of Prafulla Chandra College.
Placements: Our college doesn't give any placements. I study at Prafulla Chandra College, affiliated with Calcutta University. You have to work hard to get a good placement. I suggest that if you want placement, then go for the better options. That will help you, especially in this competitive era. You have to work hard.
Infrastructure: Prafulla Chandra College in Kolkata provides good infrastructure for its B.Com course and offers hostel facilities for female students. The college is affiliated with Calcutta University. B.Com Course. The college provides well-maintained facilities that support the B.Com curriculum. The campus has spacious classrooms, with some equipped with modern technology like smart screens and projectors. There are also well-equipped computer labs with advanced IT infrastructure.
Faculty: The examination system at Prafulla Chandra College includes both internal assessment and end-semester examinations in accordance with the university guidelines. The B.A. Curriculum at Victoria Institution aligns with the University of Calcutta's syllabus. The college offers both a 3-year B.A. A 4-year B.A. (Honours with or without Research) programme.

It is a great campus life, but it needs updating.
Placements: 75% of students from my course have been recently placed. I think the highest package offered is 4-5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are KPMG, HDFC, ICICI, PwC, etc. Over 70% of students get internships, with companies also Teah Mahindra, HDFC, Axis Bank, etc. Top roles offered are chartered accountant, investment banker, financial analyst, and marketing.
Infrastructure: The course/department has access to well-equipped classrooms with Wi-Fi and projectors, computer labs with ample systems, a library, and tutorial rooms for faculty-student interaction. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus, including labs and the library. Hostel facilities, food quality, medical services, and sports/games offerings vary widely by institution. Some colleges provide excellent infrastructure, well-maintained labs and classrooms, and a variety of food options in their canteens and messes.
Faculty: In general, the quality of teaching, teacher qualifications, and curriculum relevance can vary. Some teachers may be very helpful and knowledgeable, while others may not be as effective. The curriculum relevance and ability to prepare students for the industry also depend on the specific course and institution. Semester exams can range in difficulty, and the pass percentage can vary.
Other: I am a student from the 2023-2026 Commerce batch. I chose this course because of my interest in business, finance and economics aiming to build a strong foundation for a corporate or entrepreneurial career. The best aspects include practical subjects like accounting, marketing and business law. However, the course could improve with more industry exposure and skill-based workshops. The campus hosts vibrant fests and events, with a friendly and diverse crowd. It's well-connected and located in a lively area with good surroundings. Scholarships are available for meritorious students, and various extracurricular activities and clubs help in overall personality development.

Good classrooms. Placement is not good. The college is not for hard-studying students.
Placements: Our college placement program is not that good so very few percentages of students get placement. As our college placement program is not that good, it's hard to say what the average package offered in our course is. It is an average 10000 to 25000 starting package. There is no recruiting company involved with our college normally. Students can get an internship if they enroll in external courses. As I said, there are no companies involved with our college, so there are no top roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is pretty good. In big classrooms, there are various books, articles and journals available for students; they can easily access them as they want or as they need. Our college is a commerce and arts-based college so there are no labs available in the college. But there are enough things and facilities available for college students. Our college does not have a hostel.
Faculty: The helpfulness varies from teacher to teacher; some are very helpful and kind, while others are not. Teaching quality also depends on the teacher; some can explain things easily for students to understand and some don't even come to classes. As for the curriculum, it is only theory-based and kind of boarding so students sometimes skip classes and it also doesn't make anyone industry-ready. Rather than the teaching quality, the exams are pretty tough and hard to crack because our college is under Calcutta University so the exams are pretty tough.
Other: I was a commerce student; that's why I chose to do B.Com. (H) in the first place. For the improvement of the course, colleges and teachers need to focus on making students industry ready but the colleges only focus on irrelevant topics like studying old lawns and stuff. As for events, we got freshmen for the new students of our college and also, our college celebrates the Saraswati puja. There is no scholarship that our college provides. And for this activity, our college has an inter-college competition.

Good placements in 2022 and really good infrastructure.
Placements: There is a good percentage of placements that are given from my college. The highest salary offered is about 9 Lacs per annum and the lowest is 4 Lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are wipro, private and government banks, etc. All the students got placed from our college. Role offered is of tax consultant.
Infrastructure: We don't have Wi-Fi in our college or rather labs for our particular course but there are spacious and airy classrooms with smart boards and rooms which are well maintained and cleaned. We also have a good library with a vast variety of books. The canteen is also a good one.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is great. The course is very curriculum relevant. It really makes the students industry ready. The difficulty level of the semester exams is merely difficult but also challenging.
