The SGPA and CGPA (cumulative grade point average) evaluation is done on the basis of grades obtained in each subject and the number of credits the subject is worth. The grades are assigned as O, A+, A, B+, B, C, P, F with O being the highest with 10 grade points. So, obtaining O grade in all subjects will give you the perfect SGPA I. e. 10. The number of credits that a subject has impacts the SGPA by a great deal, such as a 4 credit subject will have more impact on SGPA than a 1 credit course. At last, CGPA is the cumulative average of all the SGPA's by that time.

The college life at RIT is decent. I wouldn't sugar coat it by saying that its happening, its certainly not. But it serves it purpose as a college of providing decent quality education, except for a few let downs. The talk of the town, which is the fest (Udhbav) of every college did not happen for Ramaiah this year due to certain unknown reasons. The schedule is lenient enough to provide some breaks in between during classes. Depending upon your branch and section, You might get two half days in a week if you are lucky enough. Overall, I would recommend taking this college if you get the chance to do so.

There is no definitive rank for the MBA Course at Ramaiah Institute of Management as the number of appearing students in the MAT Exam ( Entrance for MBA) keep on changing in every subsequent year. By tracking the trend of cutoff percentiles for MBA at Ramaiah, a percentile score of more than 65 should be enough.

Earlier, you would not have to worry much as there were 3 internals out of which 2 best were considered. But now with the onset of the new system, which has two internals and the average of both is taken, you are bound to lose out on few marks. In order to be eligible for the semester end, you will have to ace the other internal. The individual passing standard for the internal i.e. CIE (Continuous Internal Evaluation) is more than 50 percent. On the other hand, if you provide a genuine reason for the absenteeism, then the faculty might take a re-test. Plan accordingly.

Well to start out, explore. The freshman year brings a lot of exposure and opportunities not only in academics but also in a wide array of other interests. You can join the club of your interest to find out and nurture your hidden personality. About Academics, for internals, just study before one week and give your best in the semester end exams. For the rest of the time, develop your skills, go out with your friends and have the best time of college life, as you will not get this time again.
