Beautiful campus, good placements, and memories for a lifetime.
Placements: The majority of the students go for higher studies, e.g., M.Sc. in Audiology or M.Sc. in Speech Language Pathology. Around 50-60% of students get placed after completing BASLP, and the highest package offered is around 6 LPA, with an average package of 3.5-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies include hearing aid brands like Signia, Oticon, etc., and the vast majority join private clinics. Top roles offered are Audiologist, Speech Language Pathologist, Industrial Audiologist, Pediatric Audiologist, Pediatric SLP, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and the library were spacious. Audiometric rooms were sufficient for screening and diagnosis of patients. Rooms were also available for speech and language assessment and therapy. The hostel was good, and single rooms were provided to all students. The mess food needs some improvement.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful. We followed the curriculum set by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Semester exams were a bit hard, and the pass percentage was around 80%. Students passing out from this college acquire sufficient knowledge in the field of speech and hearing.
Other: The course is relatively new in India, and developments are ongoing throughout the country to improve speech and hearing services. I wish to provide more awareness to common people in the field of speech and hearing and provide them with services. Our college has an annual fest named Rimsam and many other events. The campus is huge, and there are about 300-350 students taking admission each year in different courses. Extracurricular activities include sports, music, literary events, etc.
