Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2025
3.6
A bad college with excellent professors.
Placements: Nearly 50% of students who applied got placed in our course. The highest package is 3.5 LPA. The lowest is 3 LPA. We have Vodaphone, Tensai, TFI, MoneyFrog, and other top recruiting companies for B.Com. 50% of students got placed. Most of them are in Tensai and IndiaFilings. Top roles are assistant manager, senior professor, etc.
Infrastructure: The college in specific is just two floors in spite of a humongous campus. We have to share a building with junior college and elementary school which is embarrassing. We have a library, an above-average IT lab, and average classrooms. Mess and canteens are a part of the campus, not a college in specific but, they have amazing food.
Faculty: They are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is too unappealing and full of jargon. Exams are not that difficult, but arrangements are confusing. Hence, they tend to leave us anxious, resulting in forgetting answers.

I'm satisfied.
Placements: 60% and above students got placed. The highest package is 6 LPA and the lowest I don't know. Recruiting companies are Shriram Finance, ICICI Lombard, etc. Students got internships in the second year. The committee takes many seminars for students like a seminar on soft skills, corporate knowledge, LinkedIn profile making, B.Sc., etc.
Infrastructure: There is network problem, and all over the management, everything is in good condition even classrooms are clean, with big whiteboards, etc. If you love sports you should join Somaiya College as in sports you'll get many chances of competition and for improvement, there are coaches for every sport even on campus there is a sports complex.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, out of 5 I'll rate 3.5 for teaching quality. We have to work hard and there should be other plans too like we can't rely only on this course like knowledge in IT sectors, extra skills, etc. Difficulty level of exams is average.

A little above average college. Would recommend it.
Placements: SK Somaiya Degree College of Arts, Science, and Commerce is a very average college for placements. Though companies like Infosys, etc., recruit from here, the percentage is very less. I will not recommend it in the case of placements. Other than that, it is surely a recommendable college.
Infrastructure: Somaiya Vidya Vihar provides free Wi-Fi throughout the campus. The campus is very large. The university is within 60 acres of land. Three different hostels: one for boys, one for girls, and one for both in one building. Overall, the best campus life.
Faculty: Teachers here are average. I mean, not very high-quality teachers nor very below-average teachers. You will learn good stuff if you attend lectures sincerely. Sports here are very well-developed. National and international players and coaches are available here.
Other: I have been in somaiya for my junior years too. Absolutely love this place.

Best college memories overall from 2022 in terms of placements and campus life.
Placements: I pursued and completed the course of Bachelor's in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from this college. The percentage of placement in my course was around 75% because some of the students were pursuing other degrees after this course and were not looking for a job. The average package offered was 2.8 LPA, and the highest offered was around 5.4 LPA. Motilal Oswal, SBI Pension Fund, LIC India, BSE, and NSE were the companies involved in recruitment for the course. Around 20% of students were placed in Motilal Oswal. Many of them were placed for internships in BSE and NSE. The roles offered included Accounts Executive, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Investment Advisory, Financial Services, etc.
Infrastructure: The quality of the infrastructure of the college was top-notch. The classrooms were very well-built and spacious. The library and other amenities were also very appreciable. The hostel facility was very good. Many students from different parts of the country and other countries came here for education and stay; therefore, the facilities of the hostel and food were very well provided. The campus also had one of the most beautiful and well-maintained football and athletics grounds in Mumbai. The sports infrastructure was very well provided, and every year there were university games to take part in.
Faculty: Faculty for the course was very well qualified and helpful. They were very knowledgeable, and the teaching quality was excellent as well. The teachers gave us knowledge in both practical and theoretical ways. We did not require any additional classes apart from the lectures provided in the college. The course curriculum was well designed and structured to make students industry-ready. The semester exams were moderate in terms of difficulty, and the students who covered the entire syllabus could complete and pass with a good percentage. The passing percentage used to be around 98%.

I'm satisfied with the faculty members of our college.
Placements: Some of the top recruiting companies are ITC Limited, Airtel, Amazon, Bisleri, EY, Mercedes Benz, etc. Around 75-80% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 1.5 LPA. Around 75% of students get internships in our course in famous companies. Top roles offered are psychologist, counselor, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are huge to accommodate a lot of students. Food served in the canteens is hygienic and tasty. Wi-Fi connection is great in computer labs. Hostels are very good and clean. They have spacious rooms. The quality of the food served in the mess is very good.
Faculty: All the professors in our college are helpful and good. They teach students well. The pass percentage is 95%. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students ready for the outside world. Exams are moderately difficult.
Other: Our campus is very good.

You will have your best days here.
Placements: For B.Com., some companies came to offer internships. Due to COVID, most companies offered marketing roles. The salary package offered is good. It is almost 3 LPA. Marine courses provided the best internships for students who are interested in marine or navy.
Infrastructure: The facilities and environment are excellent. Games and sports are conducted. International sports are held. The food served is good and fresh. The library is one of the best parts of the college. It's peaceful. There are many books, even old ones. It has Bhagwat Geeta and many other interesting books, even western ones. You can borrow the books for 10 days.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. Teachers are friendly with students and help them personally if required. They treat them professionally to make them ready for the future as well. They motivate students. Exams are a little hard. To score well, we need to focus on our studies carefully.
Other: Every course is good, but I recommend doing BBI because many companies offer internships. Many famous film industries also come for their promotions. Events are conducted, and they are excellent. Scholarships are available.

It is a decent college to fulfill your college life needs.
Placements: Our college had a placement cell. It provided companies and got students onboard for college placements. Around 20% of students who attended interviews got placed in companies like CyberFrat, Tech Mahindra, BSE, etc. These companies hired for junior-level roles like digital marketing executive, equity research, sales, HR admin, and accountant. The salary package offered ranges between 5 LPA - 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The entire structure of our college was good. Classes, a canteen, and a lift were well-maintained. The most attractive part about our college was its campus which had a volleyball ground, a basketball ground, an athletics ground, a football ground, a chess court, a canteen, etc. There was no Wi-Fi for students. The library was not much good, but we used to get a good bunch of reference books to refer to for our syllabus. Our college had a dedicated ground for every sport.
Faculty: All teachers at our college were helpful and supportive. We used to revise all topics during examinations, and our respective subject professors always helped us to solve our doubts. The course curriculum was average. In B.Com, there were no assignments except finance and control, which made it a little bit boring to read and appear for exams.
Other: Utkarsh 2018-19 was a big hit for us as I was a part of the organising committee, and it helped to explore us in the field of work you had never imagined like marketing, finance, creativity, etc. You can explore and experience your college life with the utmost power and energy. For students who are opting for computer IT, I would suggest they go and choose other optional subjects if it does not bother them because I am a little bit not satisfied with our faculty members who taught us IT.

Our college is good. Our faculty members are not good, even if they are supportive.
Placements: There were no on-campus placements in our college. Students needed to attend pool campus placements organised by Mumbai University. Around 90% of students got placements. The highest salary package offered in our course was 3.6 LPA, and the lowest was 1.92 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, LTI, and Accenture. No internships were offered. Roles like IT support, web development, mobile app development, cloud computing, etc., were offered.
Infrastructure: Labs were good, with great internet connectivity. Wi-Fi was also available on campus. Hostels were good. The canteen food was good. Medical facilities were also available on the campus. Great sports facilities were available on campus.
Faculty: Teachers were not good. They did not have knowledge of their own subjects they were teaching. The course curriculum was good but needs a little more improvement. It was a practical-oriented course. Exams were good. The difficulty level was medium. The pass percentage was around 70% to 80%.
Other: I chose this course to get industry-ready. The best thing about this course is that we can directly enter into the software industry to start a job or internship. The curriculum needs to be a little more practical-oriented. Events and fests were also technical-based.
