Amazing campus life, good placements, and dedicated faculty in a scenic setting.
Placements: I have just come to the 7th semester of learning, and till now, the placement opportunities being offered are really good. The college ensures that no eligible student is left behind for any internship or hiring. In my course, around 80% of students have been placed. Roles offered include Software Development Intern and Junior Game Design Analyst.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-maintained. They have all the necessary facilities to accessibility and audibility for every student. They have speakers and projectors, which are state-of-the-art. The infrastructure of the college is well-suited, and the architecture is also good, considering the location of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are doing their best and going above and beyond to help students. They are dedicated to teaching, and education is taken seriously here. Semester exams are well-suited for the course and have a moderate difficulty level.
Other: The campus organizes good fests for students to relax, and the campus itself is lively with a lot of greenery. In graphics and gaming, students are taught design skills, modeling, and designing. The campus is a bit far from the city. But it has impressive views of Mussoorie, the hills, and the city.

College is more than just attending lectures.
Placements: As I am a second-year student, I have yet to sit for my placements so my knowledge about placements is from my seniors or the university claims. Every year the percentage of students placed varies but a significant number of students (who are eligible for placements) are placed. From university communication and senior interactions the top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, among others. UPES start placements training from 2nd year only through EDGE classes in which students are prepared for interviews and the industry.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course is good. Classrooms are well-maintained and equipped with projectors. University Wi-Fi is accessible across the whole campus and labs are equipped with software and systems that are required for the course. The library has a wide variety of books, papers, journals, and other necessary materials both digital and hard copies. Since I am a day scholar I cannot comment on the hostel facilities. Based on peer interaction the hostel facilities are satisfactory. Medical facilities for both on-campus and off-campus students are available. The university provided good sports infrastructure.
Faculty: Most faculty members are qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. Many professors have a strong academic background and are helpful towards students inside and outside the classroom. The curriculum covers both the theoretical and practical parts. With interactive theory classes, lab classes and projects the students are trained for the industry. The semester exams are moderate. If a student is attentive in class and completes the assignments given they can perform well. The pass percentage is high.

Good infrastructure, overcrowded for B.Tech students, and placement is average.
Placements: I am in second year so no one is placed in my batch. But the senior gets package which is well and good. The highest package is around 60 LPA in my course, and average is 12 LPA. Some top recruiting companies are TCS, Microsoft, Amazon, and others. Internship is mandatory in our course so everyone gets an internship.
Infrastructure: Our college has all the facilities like Wi-Fi, computers, and labs. I live off campus so I don't have an idea of the hostel on campus. In sports, we have basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, cricket, and many others. We also have tournaments and all to encourage students.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful but some are not so good and helpful. Teachers are knowledgeable but sometimes they lack somewhere either in the course or to understand the students. The course curriculum is good like they don't have unnecessary subjects and topics. Semester exams are not so difficult to pass but a little bit of hard work is required.

BCA in Data Science - Batch of 2028

A great college life in a beautiful campus with top-notch facilities and absolutely amazing faculty.
Placements: My course is BCA. It offers so much to learn, but the placement after this course is not that impressive. However, after MCA, placements are very impressive. In my opinion, placements depend more on individual skill set and capability. The university brings great companies, but it is up to you to make them hire you.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure offered by university are top-notch and better than any other university in Dehradun. The entire campus has Wi-Fi, and it works really well with high network speed. Labs have the latest technology with well-maintained devices and very helpful lab assistants. Classrooms are spacious and soundproof, with projectors, and most importantly, each table has charging sockets. The library has three floors with air conditioning. There are machines for issuing books, returning them, and every other task. I have heard from my friends that it offers good facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach really well and make sure that each student understands the concept properly. They also provide very detailed PPTs with graphs and images for better understanding. The course curriculum is perfectly relevant. It teaches technological skills from a very basic level to advanced. It also makes students industry-ready and teaches how to use these skills efficiently and sustainably. Exams have a moderate difficulty level, with conceptual questions in simple wording. The pass percentage is also very high, above 80%.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computer applications. I enjoy coding and learning different programming languages. The best thing about this course is that it is relatively easy compared to B.Tech, but it teaches all the required skills. The events and fests are great, full of glamour, music, dance, and food. The campus surroundings are beautiful, with mountains and nature.

Good infrastructure, decent placement, vibrant campus life, and dissatisfied with faculty.
Placements: UPES has a strong placement record exact number varies by batch. The highest package is 52 LPA, the lowest is not disclosed, and the average is 8 LPA-9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Infosys and TCS. Internships are offered in companies like Oracle and Microsoft. The top roles offered are cyber security analyst and software engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really nice. There is a large central library with many books and AC. Wi-Fi sometimes has trouble but it works in some academic blocks. The quality of hostel rooms is nice and food is okayish. There are many sports and games with specific grounds for them like volleyball court, basketball court, and a cricket field.
Faculty: Some faculty members are really helpful and knowledgeable. Some faculty members teach really well while some don't although all faculty members are highly qualified. The course curriculum is relevant and it gives exposure to the real world. Semester exams are kind of difficult and the pass percentage is average.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in cybersecurity and ethical hacking. I wish there were more hands-on and more exposure to real-world events. Fests are really amazing and joyful.

The college can improve on the placement records.
Placements: A smaller number of student placement records have been shown this year, and I heard about the fact that Microsoft banned this college from entering for placements due to an internal issue. The placements average at 7 to 10LPA, that too if you are qualified with a good amount of knowledge in the field.
Infrastructure: Facilities are fair, sports facilities can be improved, and there are frequent Wi-Fi problems. I went inside the on campus hostel and noticed the rooms are smaller but ventilated well with a good mess. There needs to be more events based on communities outside the college.
Faculty: Some teachers who are on the younger side are helpful but can be rude at certain times. The curriculum can be better focused on newer generation technology in the coding part. The semester exams can be passed with a fair amount of practice and knowledge of what happens in the classes.
Other: Events and everything are fair and good.
