SAT India 2026: The College Board has released the SAT India 2026 exam dates on its official website. According to the SAT India 2026 dates, the entrance test will be held on May 2 and June 6. The last date to fill the application form for the test to be held on May 2 14 is April 17, 2026.

The SAT India entrance test is conducted multiple times a year in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. Students can complete SAT 2026 application form (India) for upcoming sessions from this page as well as from the official website - satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat. What is SAT India?

SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardised undergraduate university admission test conducted by the College Board for offering admission to Students in universities of the US and Canada. SAT scores are also accepted by some universities/ colleges in the UK and Australia. Apart from international universities/ colleges, the exam is also accepted for admission in more than 20 colleges in India. SAT comprises a Reading Test, a Writing and Language Test, and Math Test. Apart from these, Students may also appear for subject-specific tests. 

The SAT India exam is conducted to measure university readiness as well as predict the future academic success of a student from India seeking admission in undergraduate programs at various educational institutions in India and abroad.

SAT India 2026 Registration

All Students willing to attempt the SAT this year must complete the SAT 2026 registration process. Students must visit the College Board website to apply for the SAT 2026.  Students can follow the below-given stages to complete the SAT registration process;

  1. SAT Registration
    • Students must visit the College Board website and click on the Registration tab
    • A new SAT registration window will open in a new tab
    • Click on Create Account, the registration form will appear on the screen
    • fill in all the required details asked in the SAT account.
    • fill in General Information, Personal Information, and parent Information.
  2. Choose Preferred SAT Test Center
    • Students must choose their preferred SAT center and exam date.
    • Students must look at the SAT 2026 schedule before choosing their preferred date and place.
  3. Complete the SAT Registration 
    • Students must fill out the SAT registration after choosing the test center and date.
    • Students must know that all the filled details must be accurate else the registration form can be rejected.
  4. Pay the SAT Registration Fee
    • After completing the above given steps candidate should complete the SAT fee payment.
    • Students must remember to use the prescribed payment methods only.
    • Students should not interrupt the internet/ close the window/ create any other disturbance during ongoing transactions.
  5. Review and Final Submit
    • Students should review the complete application form once completed, if any issue is found, rectify it with in the given deadline. After completing the SAT complete registration form review Students can finally submit the application form.

    • An acceptable photo: You'll upload a photo as part of the SAT registration process. On test day, test centre staff will compare the photo to your photo ID to ensure security.
    • A means to pay the registration fee
    • A clergy letter (if applicable)
    • A fee waiver card (if applicable)

SAT India 2026 Exam Pattern

The SAT conducting authority, the College Board publishes the SAT exam pattern on the official website. The SAT exam consists of two sections namely; Reading and Writing (RW), and Mathematics. There will be 54 questions in the reading and writing section and 44 questions are asked in the Mathematics section.  The time allotted to attempt both sections of the SAT 2026 exam (India) will be 2 hours and 14 minutes. Students will be allotted separate time durations to solve each section. Students cannot switch between sections in a given time period. All the SAT 2026 exam questions will be asked in MCQ format. Questions asked in SAT India Subject Tests are not taken from some specific textbook or teaching methods. SAT India Subject Tests comprise of the latest trends in the corresponding subject that are taught in High School courses.

Intending to form a consortium of educational institutions, the College Board has joined hands with a few premier Universities in India. This consortium known as the India Global Alliance offers Indian educational institutions an opportunity to engage with some of the world's top-notch universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Columbia University, Cambridge University, McGill University, etc.

Universities that are part of the India Global Alliance accept SAT scores for admissions.

SAT India Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships

To be eligible for SAT scholarships, Students must fulfill the below-mentioned criteria:

  • Candidate must be a resident of India
  • The candidate should either appear in class 12 or have passed 10+2 from any recognized board in India.
  • The combined income of both parents must be less than INR 8 Lakhs
  • Students should be top performers in the SAT exam (score of 1300+/ 1600).
  • In the case of a university-based scholarship, The candidate must have filled out the university admission form (The university in which applying for the scholarship).
  • In the case of scholarship through a trust or NGO, Students must apply for the SAT-based scholar as early as possible.
  • Students must enroll and get the admission offer letter in the university after getting the SAT-based scholarship.

There are opportunities for candidates to avail scholarships. However, to be able to avail it, students must meet criteria. We have shared criteria to avail scholarships below -
