Good infrastructure, overcrowded for B.Tech students, and placement is average.
Placements: I am in second year so no one is placed in my batch. But the senior gets package which is well and good. The highest package is around 60 LPA in my course, and average is 12 LPA. Some top recruiting companies are TCS, Microsoft, Amazon, and others. Internship is mandatory in our course so everyone gets an internship.
Infrastructure: Our college has all the facilities like Wi-Fi, computers, and labs. I live off campus so I don't have an idea of the hostel on campus. In sports, we have basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, cricket, and many others. We also have tournaments and all to encourage students.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful but some are not so good and helpful. Teachers are knowledgeable but sometimes they lack somewhere either in the course or to understand the students. The course curriculum is good like they don't have unnecessary subjects and topics. Semester exams are not so difficult to pass but a little bit of hard work is required.

Industry-focused curriculum with great campus life.
Placements: Placements at UPES are pretty solid. Around 90% of students get placed each year. The top package has gone up to 50 LPA, and the average is about 7 to 8 LPA, and companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, PwC, and ONGC hire from here, with roles ranging from engineers and developers to business analysts and legal associates. Placements are a strong point, though internships could be improved.
Infrastructure: College offers modern infrastructure with Wi-Fi, labs, smart classrooms, and a rich library. Hostels are safe with decent food, medical care is available 24/7, and the campus has strong sports and fitness facilities for an overall balanced student life.
Faculty: Teachers at UPES are really helpful and knowledgeable. The courses are industry-focused, so you feel prepared for real jobs. Exams are not too tough if you study regularly, and most students (90%+) pass without much stress. Faculty at UPES are generally seen as helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable.
Other: I picked this course mainly because it’s industry-focused and has good placement opportunities. The best part is the practical learning and supportive teachers. On the flip side, fees are a bit high, and internships could be more. Campus life is fun with lots of fests, events, and clubs. The crowd is lively, the surroundings are beautiful, and there are scholarships for deserving students, so overall it’s a good mix of study and fun.

A Summary of Hyped-Up College UPES.
Placements: This year the highest package was 16.8 LPA in the School of Computer Science in UPES. The lowest was not mentioned though, but the highest package advertised by them is 50 LPA and a minimum of 8 LPA for B.Tech and 33 LPA for Computer Science. They have advertised Microsoft even though our college is banned by Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really great and is spread over a large area with an adequate amount of greenery. Although the classrooms are not that developed, it has a capacity of 60 students in normal everyday school benches, not like the ideal college type. The Wi-Fi connection is okay, sometimes working, sometimes not. The library is okay too, not very spacious, and does not have many physical books.
Faculty: The curriculum is okay, but the faculty is not that good. All the teachers I have do not have much experience and knowledge of the subject, which is really bad compared to the tons of money we are spending for quality education. The semester subjects are okay, but the syllabus seems useless and comes of no use in the future.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities, but a big crowd.
Placements: The placements are very good if you are in the alpha group, which is the top group. For average people, the placements go up to 8 LPA, according to my seniors. There are internships that take place every summer, which can be either provided by the college or found by you in your hometown.
Infrastructure: The off-campus hostel for girls is a very good hostel for first-year students with all the necessary facilities. The food at the hostel is average but hygienic. There is Wi-Fi throughout the campus and library services from morning to 8 pm. There are buses every weekend that take you to the city to explore till evening.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and supportive throughout. They are very strict about attendance and time. The semester exams are not super hard if you can study regularly. There are internal assessments, mid-semester, and end-of-semester exams throughout the year.
Other: The college is good for B. It teaches courses, but there are a lot of people in the course. There should be fewer seats for the course. Several events take place throughout the year, including sports and cultural activities.

UPES 2025 updated information, all about infrastructure, placements, facilities, hostel, etc.
Placements: Usually, in UPES, students get placed with a decent package of around 8 LPA. When it comes to the highest package, it goes above 30 LPA, and average is 8-10 LPA. Many companies come to the college and take students with a good package, but it totally depends on the student whether they will be able to clear it or not.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty good, and UPES has its own Wi-Fi named UPESNET. It has a good high internet speed, and also the labs and classrooms are not the same as those at CU, GUE, and other private universities. It has far better infrastructure with a good environment, but when it comes to campus hostel, you are charged a lot higher fees, i.e., Rs. 1,94,000 for a triple sharing room, and the food in the mess is not of that good level. As a student who lived on campus for a year, it was very tough to eat that food.
Faculty: UPES has a highly qualified faculty. Faculty have a great knowledge of the subjects, and they actually guide everything and are always available for help. UPES has one of the most advanced curricula compared to most universities. Semester exams are tough to clear as they have a moderate level, but students generally pass.

Total waste of money may be good at 1 time, but it is very crowded.
Placements: The placement for the batch of 2024 was inferior, with the average package being 3 LPA and the highest 30 LPA, offered to only one student. The placement for the batch of 2025 is better than that of 2024, with some companies with packages of more than 20 LPA. The college has taken significant steps to improve placements, such as extra classes for aptitude and grouping students into batches like coaching (the top batch students receive more attention and priority for placements).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for classes is okay. It is newly built and has all the modern tools. The on-campus hostel for both boys and girls is below average. In the hostel, there is only the option of three students sharing one room. Washrooms and balconies are not attached. Better rooms are available outside the campus hostel, and the food quality is also poor in the campus hostels. The Wi-Fi in classrooms works very well, but at other times, it is useless. The library is okay.
Faculty: Some faculty members are top-level, and studying under them gives the feel of studying in an IIT or a foreign country. However, many new faculty members lack teaching experience and subject knowledge. The curriculum is also not up to industry standards and mostly focuses on unused theory, with less project work and practical implementation.
Other: The number of admissions, specifically in the B.Tech CSE program, is rapidly increasing, which is raising the competition and making placement management very difficult for the college. The college cannot provide placements and quality education to such a large number of students. This year, more than 2,000 students into the B.Tech CSE program alone at UPES.

As for B.Tech at the School of Computer Science, UPES the intake capacity is 400. But the institute has more than 15 specialisations in collaboration with IBM/Xebia. So the total intake capacity is around 600 in a batch.
