B.A. (Hons.) in English - Batch of 2027

The only college that offers an English honours course on such a low budget.
Placements: The batch of English honours is good. There are a total of 45 students. The highest package is around 5 LPA, and 2 LPA may be the lowest. Companies like Zezebra, Khushjot, and Zelock have come to our college, including big companies like Airtel and Bajaj.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are also good to average, like the auditorium is pretty good and big, but some class furniture is very average, with some problems. There are a lot of network problems in the college, like people are not even able to call someone if they want. They need to find a specific place where they can make a call.
Faculty: I think the best are the teachers who are full of knowledge and energy. Some are strict, but they mentor us like friends, not teachers, and students, they help us clear the doubts easily. Overall, good communication from both sides helps us understand better that we do pretty well in exams.

Good infrastructure, but Wi-Fi issues and non-teaching staff behavior concerns.
Placements: Basically, I am in my second year, so I don't know much about the placement cell, but I know that every year the placements are given to the students. I only know about the internships as many companies have come. Recently, many companies visit, including the Bajaj Airtel and Hirestar1.0, etc. In my course, there are no specific roles that are offered.
Infrastructure: I found the infrastructure of our college is very amazing. Classrooms are well maintained. They are cleaned on a regular basis. We have one of the best auditoriums in the Delhi University, which is a plus point for our college. The library and labs are also well-maintained, so overall the infrastructure is good. There are no hostels available, but the food of the canteen, medical facilities, sports and games are very good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and we find that our teachers help us in organizing and maintaining various things. They are qualified and knowledgeable. This course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are not very difficult, they are moderate. The passing percentage is about 40% in both theory and practical.
Other: Basically, I want to enhance my speaking and communication skills. Apart from that, I also have an interest in fictional reading, so that's why I chose this course. The thing that we study in this course is very interesting. The college organizes an event, a fest, and the campus crowd is not very large. There is also connectivity, and the extracurricular activities are very strong in our college, and the scholarship is also good.

Overall, the college is pretty good.
Placements: The college is good, and I am in the B.A. Hindi Honours course. The college had a good placement cell. Many students got internships through Shyama Prasad Mukherji College placement cell, and I also got placed through my college. I would say you can choose this college.
Infrastructure: The college had average to good infrastructure. There were many different departments and different types of courses as well. Good Wi-Fi connection was available for students. Science labs and other library rooms were also available in the college. Food was also good and affordable.
Faculty: In this college, teachers were very good and supportive towards students. They always help you, were well qualified, and taught very clearly. There were also many curriculum activities happening in the college. Exams were pretty fine in this college.
Other: I chose this college because teachers are very helpful, and I was selected for this college. I chose the B.A. Hindi Honours course in the college.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) - Batch of 2028

Just average college things at DU.
Placements: Placements differ from course to course, but there are very few placements from the college, most of the students aren’t selected at all. But at the end, of course, your overall academic performance matters, so from your 1st year only, do your best to be selected. All the best.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good, but most of the classrooms have desks in bad condition, and the worst part is that the college Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all. In the rainy season, dripping happens too. The library is good enough. And I though just love our canteen food; it’s so affordable too.
Faculty: Faculty is good, they will help you out wherever you need, but of course not everyone is the same. The faculty is highly qualified and knowledgeable. My course curriculum is good enough to train a student to be a teacher. Now, if I talk about exams, you have to study hard to pass, especially with my course.
Other: I chose Bachelor in Elementary Education because I want to be a teacher good enough to educate my students well. Campus crowd is nice, fests are fine, and there are a lot of extracurricular activities too.

B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science - Batch of 2028
4.0
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Good faculty, campus life, and average placements.
Placements: Placements for Political Science Hons. are average, as most students opt for higher studies or UPSC. Around 15%-20% of students got placed, with packages ranging between 2 LPA and 7 LPA, and the average is 3.5 LPA. Recruiting companies are Deloitte, Wipro, Byju's, and NGOs visited. About 25%-30% of students secured internships in think tanks, NGOs, and private firms. Roles include research, content writing, teaching, and management trainee.
Infrastructure: The college has decent infrastructure with Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, a well-stocked library, and a computer lab. Sports facilities like basketball and volleyball courts are available, and the auditorium is well-maintained for events. The canteen serves affordable food, though the variety can be improved. Hostel facilities are limited but manageable with proper security. Medical facilities and cleanliness are satisfactory, making the overall infrastructure student-friendly.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced, supportive, and approachable, making learning engaging. The curriculum for Political Science Hons. It is updated as per DU guidelines and encourages both theoretical and analytical skills, helpful for UPSC and higher studies. Exams are moderately difficult but manageable with regular study, most students pass comfortably with good preparation. Overall, teaching quality and curriculum relevance are strong points of the college.
Other: I chose Political Science Hons. Because of my interest in governance, politics, and preparation for civil services. The course helps in developing strong analytical and critical thinking skills, which are useful for UPSC and higher studies. The best thing about the course is the supportive faculty and the updated DU curriculum. What could improve are the placement opportunities and more exposure to research-based activities. Overall, it is a good choice for students aiming for academics, competitive exams, or research fields.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2026

Best for working students and has supportive environment.
Placements: I am pursuing a B.Com at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University, under the Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB). In our batch, about 30 to 40% of students secured jobs through various drives and external support. The highest package offered is around 4.5 LPA, the lowest is close to 1.8 LPA, and the average package is around 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: College offers solid facilities for NCWEB students. Classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated. Wi-Fi is accessible on campus. The library has a strong collection of books for B.Com students. Since NCWEB students attend classes only on weekends, there are no hostel facilities. However, campus includes a canteen, clean restrooms, and basic medical support. They also organize sports and cultural events.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. They explain concepts well. B.Com curriculum is mostly theoretical, but it covers relevant topics. Exams have a moderately difficult level and require regular study. The pass percentage is generally good, around 85 to 90%, if you attend classes and prepare consistently.
Other: I chose B.Com because it provides a solid foundation in commerce and finance. The best part is the flexibility NCWEB offers for working or exploring other interests. However, I wish there were more practical sessions and support for placements. Campus is safe. Events like seminars and cultural festivals are organized sometimes.
