CUET UG Economics Syllabus

National Testing Agency released CUET Economics Syllabus 2026 at official website - cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates seeking admission to UG courses such as B.A. in Economics, B.Sc. in Economics. B.Com (Hons.), and so on, through the CUET, must check the syllabus. CUET Economics is one of the top 10 CUET subjects and is opted mostly by commerce students. The National Testing Agency has made changes in CUET Eco syllabus this year by adding Indian Economic Development.

CUET Economics Syllabus covers important topics such as Consumer Behavior and Demand, Determination of Income and Employment, National Income, Money and Banking, Indian Economy, Economic Reform 1991, etc. The economics syllabus for CUET UG is divided into 13 units, including topics from Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Indian Economic Development. The National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET UG 2026 between May 11 and May 31, 2026.

  • Central problems of an economy
  • Consumer’s Equilibrium: meaning and attainment of equilibrium through Utility Approach: One and two commodity cases.
  • Demand: market demand, determinants of demand, demand schedule, demand curve, movement along and shifts in demand curve, price elasticity of demand, measurement of price elasticity of demand – percentage, total expenditure and geometric methods
Unit II: Production and Costs

 

  • Production function: Short run and Long run production function
  • Shapes of TP, MP and AP curves
  • Cost and Revenue: Concepts of costs; short-run cost curves (fixed and variable costs; total, average and marginal costs); concepts of revenue – total, average and marginal revenue and their relationship. Producer’s equilibrium – with the help of MC and MR.
Unit III: The Theory of the firms under perfect competition

  • Profit maximization.

Unit III: Current challenges facing the Indian Economy

  • Human Capital Formation: How people become resource; Role of human capital in economic development; Growth of Education Sector in India
  • Rural development: Key issues - credit and marketing - role of cooperatives; agricultural market system, Agriculture diversification; alternative farming - organic farming
  • Employment: Growth and changes in work force participation rate in formal and informal sectors; problems and policies

CUET Economics Exam Pattern

As per the CUET UG exam pattern by NTA, the Economics Question Paper will comprise 50 questions, and candidates must attempt all questions within 60 minutes. Candidates preparing for the CUET exam must check the table below to know the important details about CUET economics.

CUET General Aptitude Test Syllabus

Is Calculator Allowed in CUET Eco Exam?

CUET Economics exam includes many topics in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics that require calculations. Candidates must note that NTA does not allow candidates to use physical calculators or smartwatches to perform mathematical calculations to answer questions. Candidates will be provided with a rough paper which can be used to do manual calculations.

No, CUET is not compulsory for admissions in the institute. The UG admissions are based on Class 12 marks. Students have to fill the application form on the Rajasthan University official website. The university allocates seats in all courses on the basis of merit scores.

Goel Group of Institutions BPharma selection criteria does not mention any other entrance exams which are accepted for admission to this course. Thus, candidates can assume that they cannot join the BPharma course of Goel Group of Institutions without gtting a valid score in CUET-UG.

Common Univesity Entrance Test admit card 2026 will be released tentatively by May 08, 2026. Candidates who have registered for the exam will be able to download the admit card at cuet.nta.nic.in by entering the login details.
