University-wise Eligibility Criteria For CUET PG 2026

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026 plays a vital role for the candidates who wish to appear for the CUET PG exam for the academic session 2026-2027. Without satisfying the important requirements mentioned in the CUET PG 2026 eligibility criteria, a candidate will not be able to participate in the CUET PG 2026 admission process. In case after the CUET PG 2026 counselling process it is discovered that a candidate has not fulfilled the CUET PG 2026 admission requirements, then their admission may get revoked.
NTA will conduct the CUET PG 2026 exam in March 2026. The exam schedule or date sheet is expected to be released on the exam website by February 2026. Students planning to appear for the exam must start their CUET PG 2026 preparation soon to get the desired seat in the participating universities.

NTA has released the CUET PG eligibility Criteria 2026 on December 14, 2025, in the information bulletin. CUET PG application process 2026 is being conducted from December 14, 2025, to January 14, 2026. Before proceeding to fill the registration and application form, applicants must ensure that they fulfil the CUET PG 2026 eligibility requirements.

Q:   What is the age limit to apply for CUET PG examination?
A:

For appearing in the CUET PG examination there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the
bachelor degree/equivalent examination or appearing in 2026 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (PG) 2026
examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria of the University in which they are desirous of taking admission. 

As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs

Q:   What miscellaneous information about eligibility criteria that CUET PG aspirants should be aware of?
A:

For admission in Universities through CUET (PG)-2026, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.

As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying to.
Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme unless he/she fulfils the Programme wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to.

Students must also note that mere fulfilling the CUET PG 2026 eligibility criteria will not secure a seat in the CUET PG 2026 participating colleges. For that, one needs to qualify for the university-specific cutoff as well. The CUET PG eligibility criteria refer to the minimum qualifications, which is a bachelor's degree with a specified percentage of marks or equivalent qualifying exams.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026

To meet the eligibility criteria to get admission in the CUET PG 2026 Courses offered, aspirants must satisfy the requirements described below. 

CUET PG 2026 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit And Qualifications

According to the CUET PG 2026 information brochure, there is no age limit for the candidates appearing in the exam. Those who have passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent examination or are appearing in 2026, irrespective of their age, can appear for CUET PG 2026 exam. However, the candidates will be required to fulfil the age criteria of the University to which they are desirous of taking admission, if applicable.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2026: Nationality

To get eligible for the CUET PG Exam, aspirants must abide by the following citizenship rules:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • A constituent subject of Nepal, Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who landed in India before 1 January 1962 to make India their permanent home and reside there permanently.
  • Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians, and people from Vietnam who permanently moved to India.

Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them by the rules prescribed by the Government of India. However, in the case of the Central Universities, the reservation policy of the respective universities shall be applicable.

CUET PG 2026 Category-wise seat distribution

GEN-EWS certificate, which is mentioned in the CUET PG information bulletin in Annexure-I, will be required at the time of CUET PG counselling, which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2024, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. 

For Candidates claiming to the OBC-NCL category

OBC-NCL certificate (Annexure-II which is mentioned in the CUET PG Bulletin) would be required at the time of counseling which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2024 in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India OBC-NCL certificate (Annexure-II) would be required at the time of counseling which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2024, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

For Candidates claiming to the SC or ST category

The following table brings the eligibility criteria for Postgraduate Science Courses at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU):

Q:   How to select courses and university in the CUET PG exam?
A:
Check out the steps to selct the university programme selection in CUET PG application process:

Step 1: After adding the exam centre city preferences, candidates will then have to select the University/Programme selection.

Step 2: In this section, candidates are required to select the university name first and then select the programme name. Likewise, candidates can select up to four universities and its allied programmes offered. After adding the university programme choices, save the details and move on to the next sections.

Step 3: In this section, candidates need to add the test details. Add the test paper subject code from the drop-down options mentioned in the window. After adding all the respective test paper codes of the university programme list which was selected in the previous step, save the details.

Under its constituent colleges, the University of Delhi offers a large number of postgraduate programs.
CUET PG admissions in various courses are offered in different colleges and departments at DU, each differing regarding cut-offs for a particular course or department.

2. Jawaharlal Nehru University
JNU offers a wide range of postgraduate courses through its schools.
It also offers many of the programs that CUET PG was used as an entry criterion for. Cut-offs for EWS candidates may be marginally lower than those of the general category.
