A few things about our Physics department in Sibsagar College.

Placements: Nearly more than 75% of students were placed in my course. The top recruiting companies for my course are ISRO, DRDO, and other technology and science-related companies. Top roles offered in my course are professor at University, engineering colleges & IIT, scientist at space, defense, and IT-oriented companies like ISRO, DRDO, Infosys, JIO, and Samsung. The highest, lowest, and average packages offered in my course are usually 3.5 Lacs per annum, 1.5 Lacs per annum, and 2 Lacs per annum respectively. Nearly more than 70% of students got internships in IT, space, and technology-related companies like Infosys, ISRO, and DRDO, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available at our department are very high standard. Our department is covered by high-speed internet and Wi-Fi. Our department has various types of laboratories where high-quality standard equipment is available. Our classrooms are very hygienic and high standard. Our department has one library where all major Physics textbooks and reference books are available. The quality of facilities in my hostel is very good and of high standard. The quality of food is very good and healthy in the mess and canteen. The essential medical facilities are also available. Sports and gaming facilities are also available.

Faculty: All our teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good and top-notch. The course curriculum is very relevant. It fully makes the students industry-ready. The difficulty level of the semester exams in our college is moderate. The pass percentage is more than 75% in our college.

Other: I honestly chose this course since it has a lot of job opportunities in the modern world, and it is a very interesting subject. The best things about my course are that it is very helpful in understanding natural phenomena deeply, and it has a vast field of opportunities. The things I wish would be better or improve about my course are that we need to add some practical demonstration classes and extra classes for learning competitive examination-oriented problem-solving skills. In the case of events and fests, our college organizes them at various times within a year, such as the farewell party.

The absolute college - Sibsagar College.

Placements: I am currently studying, but our passed-out seniors can get 70% placements and others are pursuing M.Sc. Here, I don't know the highest but the lowest I know is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys and CGG. Almost 50% of students got internships at Infosys.

Infrastructure: There are top-notch facilities available in our department. But sadly, some classrooms are in old form till now. They said it is historic. If you ask about the quality of the facilities in our hostel then I will say it is best but the building needs to remake. The quality of food available in the mess is compromisable. But canteen food is very affordable and very good. Medical facilities are average because there are only two first aid boxes for the whole college which are available in boys hostel and girls hostel. The side of sports and games is appreciable.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and friendly. I remember that one time near the exam I don't understand one topic and I asked one teacher at 2:00 AM, and can you believe he helped me at that time (2:12 AM). Our teachers are this much helpful. The teaching quality is very good. Semester exams are not tough. One can easily pass it if they only practice sessional question papers and previous years' papers. The pass percentage is 94% this year.

Other: Definitely, I chose this course, because I like physics part from 9th standard. There are many events organised in our college such as established day, Saraswati Puja, etc. And how I forget about freshers, it is the best day.

Placements: Almost 85% of students got placed in our course. Many top recruiting companies visit our college to hire students. The highest salary pacakge offered was 1.27 LPA. The average salary offered was Rs 75,000 per month. The lowest salary offered was Rs 43,000 per month.

Infrastructure: All facilities and infrastructure are available. Wi-Fi, laboratory, and library are good. Air-conditioners are available in our classrooms. Sports are also conducted. Auditorium, canteen, computer laboratory, etc., are available in this college.

Faculty: All faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are very caring about our studies and career. They are also very talented. Semester exams are hard in this college.

Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it.
