Sinhgad College of Engineering M.E./M.Tech Rankings 2025

    Q&A Icon
    Commonly asked questions
    On Rankings
Q:   Is Sinhgad College of Engineering Tier 1 or Tier 2?
    A:

Sinhgad College of Engineering is generally considered a Tier 2 institution. It is well-regarded in Maharashtra and has good infrastructure and faculty, but it may not have the same level of national recognition or research output as Tier 1 colleges, which typically include institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Tier 2 colleges like Sinhgad offer quality education and opportunities for students, but they usually have a more regional focus.

Q:   Is Universal Group of Institutions best in Mohali?
    A:

The Universal Group of Institutions (UGI) in Mohali is considered one of the better engineering colleges in the region, with positive feedback regarding its infrastructure and course offerings. It is affiliated with Punjab Technical University (PTU) and approved by the AICTE and the Punjab government

Q:   Is Universal Group of Institutions Tier 1 or Tier 2?
    A:

The Universal Group of Institutions is mostly a Tier 2 institution. It was started in the year 2009 as a private college affiliated with the Punjab Technical University, which offers various programs, including but not limited to engineering and management. Though UGI is known for high-quality education and also well-qualified faculty members, national level recognition or prestige is not at par with Tier 1. UGI - provides a sound practical knowledge and skills base, though it certainly does more direct opposition to regional colleges than really with top-class universities.

Review of Sinhgad College of Engineering.
Placements: Every year, around 50% of students get placements. The placement cell of our college is very active. Many companies like TCS, Accenture, HCL, etc., visit our college placements. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA - 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is huge. Our college has huge classrooms, labs, and libraries. Libraries have all the books. Our department is huge. Each hostel room has 2 beds. All rooms are cleaned daily. The quality of the food in the mess is very good. Our college has a ground to play outdoor sports like cricket, hockey, etc.
Faculty: All faculty members are very helpful and well-trained in their respective fields. The course curriculum is very relevant. It makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are easy if we study regularly.
Other: I chose this course to complete my graduation. Many extracurricular and sports activities are held in our college every month.

Good Faculty, learning depends on your capability, very poor placements.
Placements: Placements for BE are good. Placements for ME are less. Placements in IT sector are more. Few students got internship in different companies and different government organisation by themselves. The college does provide internship to some students based on merit.
Infrastructure: The mechanical department has its own library and there is a big library nearly 6 floors in the campus. Books are available in plenty. Free Wi-Fi is available in the library. The library is very good and spacious. It opens very early in the morning. Mess food is okay.
Faculty: The faculty of mechanical in sinhgad is really good. Some of the professors have Ph.D. in their respective field while others are trying to earn Ph.D. The course for ME mechanical is slightly outdated as compared to the industry standards. It can be improved.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placement, good environment, facilities given to st.
Placements: Very good placements and very good company come to hire the students of the college. My senior says they got many change to sit for company and internship program. College has done a very good job for student in the feild of placement. Average salary offered is 1.7 Lacs. Good job.
Infrastructure: Very good infrastructure. Very neat and clean environment. Very good nature. Good and neat clean classroom. Very big library in college. All the labs are in very good conditions and working. Their is medical facility given by medical college student it is fabulous. Good job done by college to students.
Faculty: Sinhgad college if engineering has good qualified staff in the college they teach the student from the sole of their heart to student to learn good things. In every semester each and every is completed in time. Maximum of staff take the revision of tier respective subjects.
Other: Many events were held in college. Fest, .

Satisfied by the faculty and the campus infrastructure but the placement can be improved.
Placements: The placement is great for IT and computer Science but not as good for civil and mechanical. But it's not zero for civil even for them there are opportunities. Infosys and other software companies visit the campus. Package is roughly about 3 lacks for these companies but it can go low to 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: Best infrastructure, you have all the facilities you want, the labs are having working instruments in good condition. Sports are given much priority there football and basketball court, cricket ground, swimming pool, the food is good in the canteen, hostel rooms are great with Wi-Fi connection. Library has great amount of books.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive towards the students. They help them in many other extra curricular activities also. Faculty members are qualified and has sufficient amount of knowledge about the subject. Teaching methods vary by individuals but they try maximum so that students can understand it in better way. We have industry exposure too. Curriculum can be revised.
Other: The rest of Sinhgad college is said to be one of the best in the city. The campus is much crowded and the crowd works for many good things like nss. Connectivity is also there but can be improved. Campus has pleasant surrounding. Many fest and events are arranged by the students.

Moderately satisfied because of good faculty members and good campus environment.
Placements: The placements are good for BE students, but masters did not get opportunities. Among the total 70 to 80 students from masters, only 2 or 3 got placed from the college. Talking about my seniors, I think 8 to 10 got placed. In short postgraduate, students don't have future from this college. I am talking about my branch (ECE) as well as all masters branches.
Infrastructure: As this college is very old, so you can't expect much more from infrastructure. The hostels are in good condition, and they maintain cleanliness every day. There is no free Wi-Fi for students. The library contains plenty of books, study materials, so no issue to raise about it. The labs are well-maintained. The college has big ground to play games.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified but unable to attract students in the college, means students are interested in doing extra classes from others. Talking about masters programme, attendance is compulsory. The teachers are helpful. Unfortunately, we did not get the placement or any industrial exposure from them. I can't say exactly about the ratio of student and faculty, but I must say there are many faculty members for each department.
Other: The college conducts all events, sports tournament every year. Every student might get satisfied with this. All college functions, days are celebrated very nicely. There are no issues about entertainment here.

A good course but fewer core placements.
Placements: Placements for our department are not so good as most of the jobs are those the companies bring to offer the computer or BE people. 40-50% were only placed from the department. The highest package was 6 LPA and the minimum was 2 LPA, averaging to 3 LPA. Companies like Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. came. Most of them were IT firms. Roles like tester, designer, web application developer etc. were there. There were no internships for the department.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is overall on the good side with very good facilities like 24x7 library, big parking space, big campus area. Wi-Fi connectivity is there with an average speed of 500kbps. Ambulance and hospital facility with accident insurance and student medical insurance is available. Classrooms are big and good, labs are very well supported by the latest system requirements and development tools on VLSI. Sports facilities comprise of basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. Indoor games are also there. Food is normal and some varieties are available in good cost with good quality. Hostel rooms are good and available according to our choices and requirements with solar heaters. No issues from my side about infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty here is a combination of good and average teachers with an experience ranging from 5 years to 20 years. They are helpful and knowledgeable during projects they help a lot. Teaching is done through discussions and mainly based on computers. student to faculty ratio is 6:1. Industrial project handling was done by me which was offered through my faculty. The curriculum was good, very interesting and was useful.

As, I researched it will require approximately 90 percent. It also depends on seat availability and wheather is there any direct admission available or not. For first-year via management quota, you need 50% in 12th Science—no fixed OBC cutoff, admissions depend on marks and seat availability.
