A job in aviation comes with a lot of responsibility. Many consider it worth the effort. Please note that it needs a significant investment. Candidates should be medically fit. Candidates must be mentally fit as well. One can say it is a high-pressure domain to work in.

If candidates are young (aged 12-18), it is recommended that they pursue a general course of study. Take as many Maths and Science courses as possible. It may appear unusual to study Geography and Geology, but candidates would want to know what they are looking at.
