CUCET 2026 Phase 1 Exam

Q:   Is there negative marking in JEE Main?
A:

Yes, JEE Main exam has negative marking provision. As per the current exam pattern of JEE Main, 4 marks is awarded for every correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Q:   How many minimum marks are required to clear JEE Mains?
A:
The minimum marks required to clear JEE Mains depends on your category. If you are an SC candidate then your cut off is 48, for ST candidate your cut off will be 56, for OBC candidate the cutoff will be 72 and for OC candidate it is 100. This is based on the year wise analysis. This needs not to be same every year. But the variation will not be very large, it just varies by 2-3 marks.
Q:   How many subjects can I choose for the CUET exam?
A:

From CUET UG 2026 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th.

Q:   How to calculate GATE 2025 Score?
A:

The exam authority will calculate the GATE score by considering the raw marks secured by candidates in the GATE 2025 result. The raw marks, or actual marks, will be allotted to the candidates after evaluating the answers. The GATE score for the multi-session exam will be calculated by converting the raw marks into the normalised marks for that particular subject. The raw marks will be used for calculating the GATE score based on the qualifying marks. The scorecard will be available to qualified candidates only. Candidates should keep the soft copy of the GATE scorecard safe for future use. To check the GATE 2025 result, candidates need their enrollment ID/email ID, and password. The exam conducting authority will prepare the GATE 2025 result on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the exam Check for more detail: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-results.

Q:   What are the factors deciding the GATE 2025 cutoff?
A:
The GATE cutoff is the minimum mark that an aspirant needs to score to be eligible for admission to M.Tech, M.Sc. And Ph.D. courses offered at the participating institutes. There are several factors based on which the cutoff is decided. Those who will obtain the GATE cutoff will be eligible to participate in the CCMT counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and COAPS for admission to IITs. Therefore, factors that determine the GATE cutoff are: The difficulty level of the GATE question paper. The number of candidates taking the paper. The total number of available seats. The marks obtained by the aspirants. Category under which the candidate is seeking admission.
