Sunandan Divatia School of Science accepts various entrance exam scores for admission to its undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated, and doctoral-level courses. For undergraduate courses, admission is merit-based, while for postgraduate, integrated, and doctoral-level courses, admission is entrance-based. At the doctoral level, Sunandan Divatia School of Science offers PhD programme across two specialisations. The minimum duration of this programme is three years and it can stretch up to a maximum of six years depending on the course work. Candidates have to choose a specialisation based on their specialisation at the postgraduate  level.

Selection to PhD is subject to qualifying a Written Test conducted by NMIMS. Candidates qualified in UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holder or have passed MPhil are exempted from NMIMS entrance test. • The entrance test step is followed by a Personal Interview round which is mandatory for all. Candidates need to give a presentation based on their SOPs and must discuss the topic of their research during the interview.
