B.A. in History and Political Science - Batch of 2025

It has good teachers, average infrastructure, rude administration, and poor connectivity.
Placements: Students are rarely placed in good working set-ups or offices in the B.A. programme. It is because of the lack of skill education provided in the course itself. The highest package offered is 3.6 LPA by a travel consulting company. The lowest package offered is 1.92 LPA. Students typically don't get job opportunities immediately after this course. One student is placed as an intern at Tech Mahindra due to his exceptional customer handling. Generally, teaching, education counselor, client services, and relations are some roles that are offered after the B.A. program.
Infrastructure: There are two buildings currently operating in our college, namely the old campus and the new campus. The old campus is poorly maintained. There are no proper water facilities and very hot classrooms in summer. The library is somewhat okay, but no Wi-Fi is available on campus. There is a canteen with poor hygiene. Lab equipment is outdated. The new campus is well-maintained, and it is primarily used for all events, activities, and everything. Canteen, water facilities, and washrooms are hygienic. Labs are well-equipped. Infrastructure is well-maintained and updated. It is Wi-Fi enabled. It has a decent amphitheater and a beautiful seminar room.
Faculty: Teachers are undoubtedly qualified and knowledgeable. They are excellent at their subjects. Teaching quality is decent, but some teachers are not up to the mark. The course curriculum is relevant, and it is strictly NEP-based. Although only a few courses, like B.Sc and commerce ones, make students industry-ready. Semester exams are conducted using the question papers provided by the University of Delhi, so they are well-balanced. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose a B.A. in History and Political Science because I am always keen on these subjects. I wish they would improve the quality of internal assessment and scoring. They are mostly based on many courses. Average fest and a good number of events are organised. It organises exceptionally good seminars every month. The campus crowd is decent, but the connectivity is very poor. It is 11 KMs from the nearest metro station, and the usual convenience is a government bus. It is situated in a village setting, leaving students with very few choices to eat and freshen up nearby.

Overall, anyone in this college gets admission because of the low cutoff, otherwise, none wants to.
Placements: I haven't seen anyone getting placements. I've been here for 7 months only. Maybe they get placements, and the placements start at the end of an academic session, then I can get more idea about it. I have seen some internship and placement societies in the college.
Infrastructure: There are still the tin shades in the old building of our college. A new building is under construction, but the work is going really slow. And there's a building which is quite okay but not that good. There's a library which is quite okay, but most of the books are really old.
Faculty: I think most of the students get passed easily because of lenient checking, and the syllabus is also like 2 - 4 units in every subject. Semester exams are difficult for honors students. Most of the teachers are below average. Some of them don't even know what they are teaching.
Other: There was a fest scheduled for our college, but no artists were invited. There were only food stalls and all.

B.A. in History and English - Batch of 2026

Average faculty, infrastructure needs improvement, but okay and affordable college.
Placements: I am from the 2023 batch and will finish my last semester in 2026 (B.A. programme) at Swami Shraddhanand College (Old Campus). About the packages, I don't have much knowledge, but maybe the package can be around 2–3 LPA. Internships may be provided in the last semester, and some students have participated in these to have better placements in the companies hiring freshers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the old campus needs improvement. Classrooms can be more functional if taken care of. Wi-Fi is not available. The library is good and has a good course collection. The canteen in the new building is good but needs better space for sitting.
Faculty: The faculty members are knowledgeable and qualified. Some teachers are strict, but for teaching purposes, it's okay. The curriculum is relevant but needs more practical exposure to attract students. Semester exams are moderate to difficult, but we can pass if we know the basics.
Other: The college is affordable compared to other private institutes. The course is in English, which is fine, and my course often has value as it includes English as a major. No improvements from the college, but it could have a better campus. I chose this course because it is flexible and fun to learn.

It’s good for Science department for study
Placements: Not that much active in placement. Also, there is no such time of helpful people, and the society students are not that much active for it. They have a placement society, but I think it is less useful, it’s better if you do it on your own and progress yourself.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for a course includes both physical and digital components like classrooms, labs, libraries, and reliable Wi-Fi. Essential physical infrastructure includes classrooms, labs, and a library, while digital infrastructure is also crucial. A supportive learning environment includes amenities like canteens, recreational space, and student support services, but there is no hostel facility.
Faculty: Faculty for my department is good enough. They are supportive, helpful, and well-behaved. They want the progress of students in the Science department. Overall, the faculty is good and well-maintained for study, lab work, exams, and theory lectures.
Other: Not that much, but it’s okay.

About Swami Shraddhanand College (DU).
Placements: I’m a fresher student of B.Com (Hons) 1st year. I can tell you the highest placement of B.Com (Hons), which is 9 LPA. The lowest is 3 LPA, and the average package is 4–5 LPA. The median placement rate is around 30 percent. Being from a B.Com (Hons) course, you can get an internship by studying and learning a few skills. The placement cell is quite active in enrolling you into internships, they mostly post it on their WhatsApp group.
Infrastructure: Sadly, there is no hostel service in our college, but the campus area is so huge and vast it will not disappoint you. You can explore the campus with your friends and conduct fun activities together. The classrooms of the new campus will give you college vibes, however, the old campus offers small classrooms which will give you a nostalgic vibe of your classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and helpful. For teaching in a DU college, they have to be well-qualified, and yes, they are. They teach the topics by giving the most relevant examples and facts to enhance your learning. B.Com (Hons) offers the base for HR, Finance, and Law Enforcement. The semester exams are pretty tough, but the pass percentage is above 80 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I have always wanted to be a CA in my life. My course is the best because the teachers are very supportive. Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana is from our college, as are Priyansh Arya and Anuj Rawat, renowned names in cricket.

Below average college experience: Poor infrastructure and stagnant curriculum.
Placements: The percentage of students getting placement from the college is very low. To be exact only a few students from the previous batch of 2024 got placement from the college. The placement cell of my college is also very inactive. Only a single student got placement from the Bachelor of Arts background.
Infrastructure: My college has two campuses. The new one, though better still lacks basic facilities. There is no Wi-Fi a poor network a hygienic canteen no medical services and no proper sports equipment. Classrooms have broken fans and air conditioning is not even considered. Yet this is still better than the old campus. The old campus is over 50 years old with no major renovation. Its infrastructure is crumbling, and classrooms lack a proper roof covered only by heavy metallic shades. Electricity is irregular, while Wi-Fi canteen library medical and sports facilities are completely absent making it a unit for students.
Faculty: The faculty is the best part of Swami Shraddhanand College. Teachers, especially in Political Science and Hindi, are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They guide us not only in academics but also for the future. Though the curriculum is static, teachers link it to the present scenario, making it meaningful. We have ability, value, and skill enhancement courses, but they lack practicality due to the stagnant exam pattern. Exams remain quantitative instead of qualitative. Students filling pages score high, while quality answers with less content score low. This needs urgent improvement for true learning.
Other: I am a Political Science enthusiast and chose to pursue the subject at the University of Delhi, preparing through CUET. (UG) and securing admission to Swami Shraddhanand College. The diversity within my core subject excites me. From public administration to ancient and modern political thought, and foreign policy. The cultural societies are vibrant, especially Pravaad. The debating society, where I have learned immensely. I participated in the 55th Youth Parliament in 2023 and later in MUNs and Youth Parliaments, even helping organize three events in the 2025 fest. Since the introduction of CUET, the student crowd has become more diverse, disciplined, and academically driven.
