Average infrastructure but excellent faculty with skillfully forged curriculum.
Placements: The college does not provide any placements for undergrad students. The placement cells are run only for masters students by different departments in collaboration with each other. But for the bachelor degree students of TISS, Hyderabad can expect jobs with roles like community coordinators, research assistant, data collecting assistant, NGO workers, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has complete Wi-Fi coverage along with a suitable library with access to digital library and physical libraries across TISS campuses. The library also provides access to many online publishers such as JSTOR along with the facility of plagiarism check. There is also a computer lab for convenient working atmosphere. Medical room and counselling room are available on the campus for extended physical and mental health assistance.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are PhD doctoral candidates with immense knowledge in their respective subjects and have contributed to the course nationally and internationally. Many faculty members have written books and have had multiple publishments. All the faculty and staff have high profiles and the administration functions smoothly and is student-friendly.

M.A. in Public Policy and Governance - Batch of 2015

A good experience at TISS Hyderabad.
Placements: The placements were good. Many of the Public Policy and Governance students were placed with various departments of Government of Andhra Pradesh and Government of Telangana. Apart from this, there were also several NGOs where students of other streams were placed. For internships, students were allowed to find and work with the organisation of their choice. The placement cell was helpful and had a set of rules to be followed which were stated clearly to prevent confusion and give every student a fair opportunity to sit for the placements.
Infrastructure: There was high-speed Wi-Fi on campus and the classrooms were of a good size and airy. The canteen provided decent food and the hostel rooms were of a good size. Library had a good collection of books and we were also given remote access to journals which helped us during our studies and research work. Overall the infrastructure was satisfactory.
Faculty: The professors were subject matter experts and very well qualified. The course was well structured and the mode of teaching was the whiteboard supplemented by the power point presentations. Students are given the opportunity to develop their self-confidence by presenting assignments before the faculty members as well as peers. The course curriculum touched upon a variety of subjects to give a well rounded perspective of the public policy issues and developments taking place in India and the world.
Other: There was an annual fest for TISS Hyderabad apart from which several events are also conducted during the year to help the students relax and take a break from the routine. The campus surroundings are peaceful and enjoyed by the students.

TISS heaven on earth-best place for academic engagement and finding excellent people.
Placements: Placements are satisfactory though not commensurate in financial terms but people who are highly motivated to work in social sector do get ample opportunities. Placement opportunities are limited because very few high paying jobs come and for B.A. there's no placements but for M.A. there are placements.
Infrastructure: Since it's a temporary campus; there are some teething issues for infrastructure but the college is trying hard however adequate infrastructure is there to permit academic activities. One problem was hostels were not inside the campus and outside the city which meant connectivity was sometime a problem. And it operated in a government building and not a campus of its own which meant permission was required Everytime. But it's best place to study with its own limitations.
Faculty: Course curriculum is exhaustive and multidisciplinary but sometimes some ideas get profilerated but this is inevitable because everyone has his/her own biases. All faculty are reputed with publication in reputed academic journals and faculty are easily approachable.
Other: In short you learn a lot about ground level social reality and students are extremely fabulous and friendly.

Faculty members and Education at its best.
Placements: Placement was fine for my senior batch. Almost 91% of students were placed in batch 2015-17. the highest salary offered in our course was 60,000 rs. Per month and the lowest was 25,000 rs per month and average was 40,000 rs per month. A lot of companies or say organisation has visited like Raajeevika, Dr. Reddy's foundation, KSRLM, ITDA, Chhattisgarh livelihood mission, Odissa livlelihood mission, etc. Role that was offered in placement was young professional, executive officer, Manager etc. 100% of student will get internship as internship is a part of course curriculum. Cant say for stipend in internship but average will be around 12000 per month. Yes, there is a placement cell and it is really very efficient to bring organizations and is able to coordinate with students and companies for jobs.
Infrastructure: As TISS Hyderabad doesnot have its own campus, it collaborates with TSIPARD campus. Infrastructure as per in building is not so good but Wi-Fi facility is there. Classrooms are perfectly fine. For medical supports there is doctors available for students as well as staffs. Sports facility is also there, like basketball ball court, badminton court, table tennis, volleyball, carrom, chess etc. Inside college hostels are not so good but the hostel that is outside college is very good.
Faculty: Facultiies here are very good. They are really helpful and is available for all the support and help related to your study as well as any personal problem. They all are knowledgeable and able to teach in very interesting manner. Teachers use projector for teaching. Yes I get industry exposure as well as social exposure, as there is a representation as student from almost each state of India. Course curriculum is really helpful because what is needed in the course is beautifully shown in the course structure and we also see this during study. All the subjects that is being taught here is perfectly related.
Other: Fest like Freshers, farewell and TISS Quintissence are organized by the student union that includes quiz, sports, dance competition, poetry competition, face painting, etc. Campus is not crowd because per course TISS accept only 31 students.

A review on TISS Hyderabad by a TISSian.
Placements: The placements for B.A. are very less, and many students prefer higher studies after the completion of their course in this college. The placement for M.A. courses is good. Many NGOs preferred our college students, and NGOs were the main organisations in which many of my seniors got placed. Their minimum salary was Rs. 17,000 per month (approximately). There's a placement cell. It's not that efficient, but they're trying their level best to get us as many good jobs as possible.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is bad. We've just one block in a government campus leased out for us, and lush green trees surround our block. Within that one block, we've pretty decent amount of facilities. We've Wi-Fi, good classrooms, a small library. There are very fewer facilities for sports. The food available in the canteen is better compared to the hostel food, but still, it is not much satisfying. The hostel is not that bad. We've student counsellors too, to help us out at times if required.
Faculty: The teachers here are very well-qualified, knowledgeable and helpful. The teaching quality is really good. We've experiential learning as a part of our curriculum which is a really good experience. The course curriculum is diverse & unique, and I love it.
Other: We've three major events in our college. Freshers- to invite the new students joining our college, Quintessence- a three-day festival, and farewell - for the outgoing students. We've stressbusters too, an evening full of fun organized about a week before the exams start.

Satisfied by the choice I made to join the college. The college is great.
Placements: Every year, in January the organisations come for the placements. This year too the organisations like FES and Andhra Pradesh planning had come, the placement record is good. All the courses have a great number of students being placed, but as far as the placement is concerned my course which is Masters in natural resources and governance is concerned has the least number of organisations coming for placements. The placement depends on the internship we do as first years on May for this two people from the class are voted, and placement cell created, they have the job of finding organisational for internship and also later for the placements. The type of organisation that comes to the college is environmental NGOs and also government organisation of state planning.
Infrastructure: The college currently is running on two temporary campuses, one in Rajendranagar and the other in the middle of IT hub Gachibowli. The infrastructure of the Rajendranagar Nagar campus is like the secluded from the city one. The area is big, and the campus is full of trees and plants. However the entire campus does not belong to the college, yet it is big enough, whereas the other campus is a rented one and two colleges operate on the same campus. The campus is in the middle of the IT hub, but the campus is not big as the other one. Both the campus has a library and Wi-Fi and counsellor room, with medical facilities, for sports enthusiasts like me the campus in Rajendra Nagar will be better as though the campus has just badminton court but still nearby other campus has their field where we can play. The classrooms are nice with the projector in all class and individual cushioned seats with an attached table. The hostel to is good in the Rajendra Nagar campus whereas in the Gachibowli area as it is an IT hub the entire area is filled with private hostels. The land for building a proper campus is in a place named Kothur Mandal, and everyone expects the construction to start soon.
Faculty: This is the main part of the college. The faculty members are really good, most of them from JNTU and many of them are educated in abroad, and the college is a liberal social science college, where all type of thought and viewpoint are accepted and respected, the courses are well-planned, and the environment in the college is awesome.
Other: The college is an extension of the Mumbai campus, and the union to is in the main Mumbai campus, the college has no uniform and as I said all viewpoints and research topics are respected.
