Here is the secret to crack BITSAT
By: Satyam Singh
Create a schedule, practise important topics, refer notes, and revise all the topics with complete diligence to crack competitive exams like BITSAT.
In this article, we will be about the preparation tips for BITSAT exam. The main thing about the BITSAT exam is the number of topics covered by the student. For this exam, one has to focus on covering the maximum number of topics to ease the preparation process.
While reading a topic, note the important points in a separate notebook. Every student preparing for a competitive exam should keep in mind that there is no specific trick or shortcut to clear any entrance exam. One must develop their tricks to solve a question, however, in-depth knowledge is essential to develop that trick. In the last week of preparation, one must revise their short notes and all the important formulae. In the BITSAT exam, most of the questions are formula based. Therefore, the students must focus on learning the formulae daily to score high in the exam.
To clear any exam time management is very important. The students in Class 12 often face the problem of managing the board and competitive exams simultaneously. I would suggest them not to panic in this situation and prepare a timetable to cover all the topics and adhere to it. One thing I would add is not to fix the time to study, instead, allot hours to study/complete the topic.
The students of Class 12 could study for at least one hour each subject every day and study at least two hours each subject for competitive exam. During the preparation, study for at least seven to eight hours a day. Along with the study, proper relaxation is equally important, therefore, one must sleep for at least six to seven hours a day.
In BITSAT, there are a total of five sections. The total number of questions in each section is 40 except for English and Aptitude. There are many scoring topics in each subject. Here are the scoring topics of each subject.
Physics
In BITSAT main focus is on Kinematics and Thermodynamics. One must write each formula of these two topics and learn them frequently.
Chemistry
In this exam, all the three topics of Chemistry are equally distributed, i.e. Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
- In Inorganic Chemistry, one must know all the trends and exceptions.
- In Organic Chemistry, all the reagents and catalyst used in a reaction and the colour formation that takes place are important.
- In Physical Chemistry, consistent practice is required, the more one practises, the more they could score.
Mathematics
The important topic in Mathematics is Algebra. One could score more marks in this topic, therefore, the students need to practise the questions daily to clarify the concepts and enhance speed and accuracy in the exam. The more you practice the more confident you would become.
Other than these subjects, there are 30 questions from English and Aptitude sections as well. The difficulty level of these questions is moderate. The overall level of this exam is 40% easy, 40% moderate and 20% hard. After completing the syllabus, one must focus on thoroughly revising the topics as well as working on the weak areas to score high in the exam.
