IIT Bombay records 76.21% campus placements in 2020-21
A total of 1,150 students got placed during the 2020-21 placement season. The highest international offer was ₹1.4 crore, whereas the highest domestic package was ₹64 lakh.
According to the placement report released by IIT Bombay recently, as many as 292 companies offered jobs to students during online recruitment process. A total of 1,261 job offers were made to students in both phases, of which 1,150 were accepted by the students. The overall placement percentage was around 76.21 per cent this year against 83.58 % the corresponding year.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and ban on international travel, many international companies could not participate in the placement season. The Average Gross Salary offered was Rs.13.67 LPA and the average CTC was Rs. 17.91 LPA. Total number of Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) was 149. The number of international offers was 58, excluding PPOs. This suggests an increasing and a positive trend in the pay package offered by various organisations.
