Difference Between JEE Main and KCET Syllabus : Every year many students appear for entrance exams like KCET, JEE Main and others to secure admissions in engineering courses. KCET and JEE Main, both are national level engineering entrance exams. Admissions through KCET exam is offered in Karnataka state government engineering colleges. JEE Main exam Being a National Level exam offers admissions to IIITs , NITs and GFTIs across the country. Students preparing for engineering entrance exams often search for differences between KCET and JEE Main syllabus. The syllabus of KCET exam is quite less than JEE Main exam. Applicants must study less topics for KCET exam syllabus in comparison to JEE Main exam. It advised to go through  KCET Important Topics & Chapter Wise Weightage while preparing for the exam. Q:   Where can I get JEE Main 2026 syllabus PDF?

National Testing Agency NTA has released the syllabus of JEE Main 2026 on the official website. Students can download the current JEE Main syllabus PDF from Shiksha page or from the JEE Main official page to start their preparation. It is advised that students prepare for the exam strictly as per the syllabus and do not leave any topic to prepare for the exam.

Q:   Is JEE Main syllabus tough?
A:

JEE Main syllabus is based on class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths topics. If you have focused while studying, then it will be easy to prepare for the exam otherwise, you may find it difficult. NCERT textbook is the best for Chemistry and Physics. You can also refer to other books for exam preparation. There are many preparation books suggested by the toppers of Joint Entrance Examination Main.

Q:   What is the weightage of class 11 and 12 chapters in JEE Main syllabus?
A:
As per the official syllabus of JEE Main released by NTA no weightage is set for class 11 and 12 chapters. Candidates must note that all the topics of CBSE class 11 and 12 Physics Chemistry and Mathematics is included in the JEE Main syllabus. There is no official number on JEE Main weightage but candidates need to study the whole syllabus released by the NTA in order to score good marks in the exam. However, as per the previous years paper analysis, some chapters have high weightage in exam.

Q:   Is JEE Main syllabus same for B.Tech, B.Arch and Plan?
A:
The syllabus for JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech), Paper 2A B.Arch and Paper 2B B. Plan is different. JEE Main paper 1 exam is conducted for admission to BE/B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B is conducted for B. Plan courses. JEE Main paper 1 syllabus consists of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Paper 2A syllabus has Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing while Paper 2B syllabus has Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning. Candidates must note that Mathematics syllabus is common/same in all three papers.
Q:   Is JEE Main syllabus same as syllabus of JEE Advanced?
A:

Not both are not same. But some topics are similar in JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students who qualify the JEE Main exam and are among the top 250000 students are eligible to take the JEE Advanced.  Due to this reason majority of syllabi are the same, but a few extra topics are added in JEE Advanced.

Q:   Can I complete JEE Main syllabus in 6 months?
A:

JEE Mains syllabus can be completed in 6 months considering that almost every topic of JEE syllabus is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. However, completing the syllabus does not mean that candidates will get a good score. JEE Main exam tests your conceptual and analytical understanding of topics. To get a good score, you need to have good understanding of core concepts and also use to of applying them in solving numerical questions.
