To be eligible for admissions, the applicant must have a minimum aggregate of 45 per cent or more in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. An aggregate of 40 per cent or more is required for candidates belonging to Bc, MBC, SC and ST caste. The eligible candidates are then required to undergo Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling process basis which they are offered admission to engineering programmes at SRM Velliammai Engineering College.

A: The admissions are offered to students on the basis of composite marking which includes the merit scores (Physics, Chemistry and mathematics) and TNEA scores. The combined score are calculated out of 100 and the cut off is released. In the last academic session, following cut offs were released:

A: The cost of BE and BTech programme varies on the basis of choice made by student to pursue the degree from NBA accredited department or Non NBA accredited department.
For accredited department:
- The student applying through management quota, the fee is Rs 1.49 lakh per annum
- Students applying through government quota, the fee is Rs 92,000 per annum
For non-accredited department:
- Student applying through management quota, the fee is Rs 1.47 lakh per annum
- Students applying through government quota, the fee is Rs 87,000 per annum
