While applying for undergraduate courses including B.E. and B.Tech, candidates would have passed 10+2 with at least a 60% aggregate marking in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There aren't any entrance exams with admissions happening through TNEA counseling. Although the college has a good reputation and competitive placements, the students coming from other states have to apply under management quota, which requires additional fees. RMK Engineering College is one of the premier private engineering college in institutional engineering college in Tamil Nadu but it is not among the most premier engineering institutions in the country or even in the state, for that matter, such as IIT, Chennai or NIT, Trichy.
