M.Tech Colleges in Bankura - 2026 Fees, Admission, Placements

IIT Kharagpur offers a joint MTech/ MCP PhD programme to students who have completed their UG degree in the relevant stream. Under this programme, at the end of the first year, interested students with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for a written test and/or interview to check their suitability to enrol for PhD. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme. Students selected for PhD will have to complete the two-year academic requirements of MTech/ MCP programme before enrolment for PhD. For these students, the MTech/MCP and PhD degrees will be awarded together upon successful completion of PhD. The programme is open to students of all categories with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ MSc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) with a valid GATE score.

MTech is one of the popular courses of NIT Durgapur. NIRF has ranked NIT Durgapur at 44 in 2024 rankings under 'Engineering' Category. It is one of the recognised NITs of India offering two-year M.Tech programme. Candidates have an option of 18 specialisations in M.Tech at NIT Durgapur. Once completed, M.Tech students can participate in the placement drive of the institute. TCS, JP Morgan, Oracle, and many other renowned companies participated in NIT Durgapur placements 2023.

IIEST Shibpur Electrical Engineering opening rank was 26800. The same specialisation had the round 6 rank was 30994 for the General All India category students. Please keep in mind that other categories cutoff will differ accordingly.

The highest package recorded during MAKAUT BTech placements 2024 was 7 LPA. During the BTech placement drive 2023 and 2022, it was 8 LPA and 7.7 LPA.

JIS College of Engineering and Haldia Institute of Technology are offering full-time M.Tech courses in Kolkata. Both the institutions have been placed under the #201-300 rank band in the NIRF Ranking 2024 (Engineering category). Generally, a GATE score of 300 (For a example) is considered low for popular courses like Computer Science and Electronics . However, you may still have a chance of admission if the competition is low, and you have a good academic record and relevant work experience.

However, the final admission depends on several factors such as the availability of seats, the number of candidates who have applied, and the cutoff for the institute you are interested in.
