Entrance to DU’s undergraduate management course on June 26

The entrance test for Delhi University’s (DU’s) Bachelors in Management Studies (BMS) will be held on June 26, 2013. The six colleges to offer the 840 seats in BMS are:

  1. Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS)
  2. College of Vocational Studies (CVS)
  3. Keshav Mahavidyalaya
  4. Maharaja Agrasen College
  5. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College
  6. Deen Dayal Upadhyay College

 BMS, under DU’s four-year undergraduate program (FYUP), is the combined result of three popular courses – Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Financial Investment and Analysis (BFIA).

This management programme at undergraduate level has brought together courses on macroeconomics and global environment, operations research, international trade and finance, investment and risk management, corporate strategy, principles of marketing management, accounting for managers and basic econometrics, etc, under one programme.

About 22,000 candidates have applied this year, as opposed to 17,000 last year.

June 26, 2013; Wednesday (11:00 AM to 01:00 PM)

Selection Procedure

Based on the performance in the written test, candidates for the relevant categories shall be called for Personal Interview.

 

Weightage:
Written Exam – 50%

Class XII Result – 30%

Interview – 20%

Counselling and Admission

Candidates will be allotted a college on the basis of their merit/rank at the counselling sessions. After depositing fees and fulfilling the admission formalities, candidates can opt for a different college at later counselling session, subject to availability of seats as per merit in the overall score.

Entrance test syllabus

There is no prescribed syllabus or format for the test. The following areas have been usually included in the entrance test in the past:

Quantitative Ability

Reasoning and Analytical Ability

General English

Business and General Awareness

 

Entrance test pattern

- Applicants will have to attempt 100 objective type multiple choice (four choices) questions in 120 minutes.

- The answers are to be marked by blue or black ball point pen on a separate - answer sheet (OMR) provided during the entrance test.

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Marking of multiple answers for one question shall be treated as wrong answer.

- Extra time is given to fill up details on test booklet and answer sheet, marking attendance, verification of candidates’ documents, distribution, and collection of test material etc.
