Utkal University course admission is both merit and entrance exam-based. Below are the eligibility and selection criteria for some of the programmes offered at Utkal University:

Candidates who qualify for entrance examinations or are shortlisted based on their marks in the qualifying examination will have to report to the admission cell at Utkal University for document verification and fee payment for final seat allotment.

XIM popular programmes are MBA & BTech. Xavier University Bhubaneswar students are taught Digital Electronics and Logic Circuits, Data Structures & Algorithms, Engineering Chemistry/ Modern Biology, and several other subjects.

While teaching the BTech students, the teachers make use of several teaching methodologies. These consist of lecture inputs, design capstone, exercises, assignments, thesis/project work, presentations, and others.  

XUB MBA students are taught functional and general management knowledge. This is done so that students can learn Problem Analysis, and Resolution, Quantitative and Qualitative skills for forecasting, and Essentials of Micro-Economics and Macro-Economic analysis
