I am satisfied with the faculty, infrastructure and facilities. I dissatisfied with the placements.
Placements: About 30-40% of students in our course get placement. The highest package salary offered is 10 LPA, and the average salary package salary offered ranges between 3-4 LPA. The lowest package salary offered is 2 LPA. Byju's offered the best salary package. Internship offers in our college are more than students. Students do an internship in companies like Tata.
Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs and the library. Quality of the food served in the hostel is average. Canteen and medical facilities are average, but sports facilities are good. Our college provides many other facilities like training for placement under guidance by the college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful and friendly. Many faculty members in our college completed M.Tech and M.Sc. Some are bachelors holder faculty members. The course curriculum is relevant, and I don't know that it makes students industry-ready or not. I am satisfied with the course curriculum.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is my passion. The college should provide the best facilities for the students. All events are organised by the college.

Review of Odisha State Open University.
Placements: The college provides placements and job opportunities. It tends to happen in the final semester of the course. Not many companies visit our college for placements, only a few visits here, and that too offers a very low salary of Rs. 10,000-25,000 per month and very few get that.
Infrastructure: Getting a room in the hostel is based on academic percentage scored. The food served in the mess has improved. One can also get local food nearby. Sports, cultural activities, debate, art competitions are common here. The college does not provide air-conditioner during summers. All facilities are available here like a good lab, good sports items, etc..
Faculty: The education system was good, which includes 20 marks of internal and 80 marks of the semester. Exams are conducted well, but sometimes, they are conducted before completion of the course. Any student can choose any course as there are many courses available in our college. Faculty members are also good. Our teachers always motivate us every time to score well.
Other: It is a good course based on quality as compared to other courses. Scholarships like E-Medhabruti and Prerna are provided here. Students who score more than 55% can apply for Prerna, and if a student scores more than 60%, then they also apply for E-Medhabruti. Prerana nearly provided to all students who score more than required marks, and it is low as compare to E-Medhabruti, which is only offered to a few students by the government of Odisha.

It is worth joining here. There is the best course design.
Placements: About 80% of the students get placements easily from our college. The average salary package offered here is around 3 LPA-12 LPA. Our college provides complete knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects. Top recruiting companies here are print and media industries. Students also get jobs in corporate communication companies.
Infrastructure: There is nice infrastructure, but there is no hostel facility. There are good library facilities (both physical and digital). Practicals are being organised in topmost organisations. There are Wi-Fi-enabled labs, and there are highly digital classrooms in certain locations. It is worth joining this course.
Faculty: Teachers or counsellors here are best and are from teaching and professional background. Teachers are very cooperative. The course curriculum is highly relevant, and it makes students industrial-ready. Students are being provided with information within a very short period.
Other: It is a nice university, and it has the best course design, so I joined this course.

On Placements
Q:   What are the job prospects after BBA from Odisha State Open University?
A:

A BBA from an open university helps in getting decent job roles. Odisha State Open University BBA graduates can grab offers based on their skills. Some of the entry-level corporate roles for BBA degree holders are as follows:

  • Sales Executive
  • Operations Executive
  • Business Development Executive
  • Customer Support/ Service Representative
  • HR Assistant, etc.
Q:   Who are the top recruiters of OSOU?
A:

There are many companies both big and small recruiting from OSOU. Some of the companies that visit Odisha State Open University (OSOU) for placements include:

  • Adani Defence & Aerospace
  • Airbus
  • Indian Airlines
  • Vistara
  • Indigo

Additionally, students have mentioned that many start-up companies visit the campus, and the placement process has been affected by the pandemic. During the pandemic period the institute's grip on the placement facilities did drop for sure but it had climbed back to its previous position, infact trying to grasp even more. The university provides a placement cell and training of students in soft skills to enhance employability. However, placements and job opportunities are not considered good in some cases due to the nature of distance education.

Q:   Does OSOU offer better placements than North Orissa University-Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education?
A:

While comparing the placements of OSOU and NOU it is important to remember that both institutes have different procedures of conduct and different systems of education. About 30-40% of students in various courses of this university get placement. The recruitment procedure is held by many companies. The highest package salary offered is 10 LPA, and the average salary package salary offered ranges between 3-4 LPA. The lowest package salary offered is 2 LPA. Byju's offers the best salary package as per the official website and the aluminis of the institute. Internship offers in the institute are said to be more than students wish for. On the other hand, in case of NOU there is no placement facility available for the students. This university does not provide job to the students. The institute does not provide the internship to the students. No companies go there for the campus placement. In other words the students are on their own.
