Application Process for MASCOM Entrance Exam 2017

Manorama School of Communication (MASCOM), Kerala conducts entrance exam to provide admission to aspirants in the postgraduate diploma programmes in print and broadcast journalism. For the upcoming academic session, MASCOM entrance exam dates are not out yet.

All interested candidates can apply for the entrance exam once the notification is out. However, prior to starting with the application process, aspirants need to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the journalism entrance exam conducted by Manorama School of Communications. All candidates holding a bachelor’s degree from a recognised college/ university are eligible to apply for the journalism entrance exam at Manorama School of Communication.

Mentioned below is the complete application process for Manorama School of Communication journalism entrance exam 2017.

Step 1: Filling the Application Form

Eligible candidates can apply for Manorama entrance exam in the offline mode. For this, candidates need to first download the application form from the official website of MASCOM. Details to be filled in the application form include:

1. Choosing test centre locations: Candidates may choose two test centre locations by ticking the respective checkbox of respective test centre city.

2. Personal details: This includes mentioning details such as name, gender, age, date of birth, religion, nationality, guardian’s name, guardian’s employment (name of organisation and designation), and postal address.

3. Educational details: Here, candidates need to specify educational details of Class 10th, Class 12th, and graduation. The details to be mentioned include the name of institution, qualification, division obtained, year of passing, and major subjects.

4. Language proficiency: This includes specifying the level of proficiency in English, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. The proficiency can be marked by putting a tick against one or all specifications (Speak/ Read/ Write).

5. Employment details: This includes providing employment details such as name of organisation, designation, and year of joining and resigning. Here, candidates also need to provide details of their journalistic experience, if any.

6. Extracurricular activities: Under this column, candidates need to specify details of extracurricular activities that they have been involved in.

7. Personal skills inventory: This includes specifying proficiency in various areas (computer operation, internet operation, photography, movie-making, sketching/ painting, theatre/ dramatics, dance/ music, extempore oratory, and software knowledge). The proficiency can be marked by putting a tick in front of either of the columns (Very Good/ Good/ Average/ Poor). However, note that filling the personal skill inventory is optional.

9. Photograph: Candidates need to paste their recent passport size coloured photograph in the space provided.

Note: All details in the application form need to be filled in block letters in candidate’s own handwriting. Also, the form should be filled using black or blue ink only.

Step 2: Filling the Admit Card Form

Details to be filled in the admit card form are as follows:

1. Name

2. Address

3. Signature

4. Photograph: Just as the application form, candidates need to paste their recent passport size coloured photograph.

Note: Candidates need to fill two admit card forms before paying the exam fee/application fee for the entrance exam. If any aspirant does not fill these admit card forms, his/her application process will not be complete.

Step 3: Submitting the Application and Admit Card Forms

Candidates need to post the duly-filled application form and two admit card forms at the below-mentioned address:

Along with the forms, candidates need to submit the application fee of Rs 500 by means of a demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of MASCOM and payable at Kottayam, Kerala.

While posting all the documents, candidates should clearly mention “MASCOM application” on envelop.

Note: After the submission of application and admit card forms along with the DD, candidates will receive their admit card by post. The admit card will contain information on exact date, time, and test centre address of the written exam. It is mandatory for candidates to bring the admit card to the exam centre as it will work as a proof of identity.
