As students, we all are facing many issues during this world crisis. There are various problems like not able to meet your friends, not aware of what would happen next, exams would be postponed or not and so on. Well! Right now, what you could probably do is to be optimistic about the future and focus on the present.

Here are 5 ways that I am following these days to keep busy and not let myself deviate from the academic preparations.

1. Make a weeklong schedule and follow it.

One of the main difficulties that many of us are facing during this lockdown period is that we do not have a fixed routine, which we had some time ago. The whole point of creating a weeklong schedule is to have a similar feeling of a weekly timetable of our lectures, which used to remind us of our pending homework, assignments, etc. However, this time you get to choose your schedule and take full advantage by making one.

You could plan one major task or multiple tasks on a single day as per your interest and suitability. However, you should make sure that all the academic subjects are covered every week at least once. You could also add other interests, certification courses, book readings, and hobbies in your weekly schedule along with the course subjects, this would help in sticking to it.

2. Sign-up for certification courses

Ever since the lockdown has been announced, many certification/education platforms announced that many of their courses are free of cost. However, it might not look like a great deal to everyone, but keep one thing in mind that these certification courses could be considered during the placements and other corporate activities in the future.

If you could choose the right courses complementing your degree, it would help in enhancing your knowledge of the concepts, and also you would feel more confident during the examinations.

3. Choose the right hobbies

In this era of technology, most of us are limited to our smartphones and the internet during our leisure time. Remember, this is an opportunity for all millennials to add some hobbies to their daily schedule. It could be anything like sketching, reading books or maybe learning a new skill.

Try remembering a hobby you used to like the most in your childhood and give some time to it. Doing your favourite work in the leisure time could create moments that you would cherish post lockdown.

4. Don’t panic! Be positive!

Most of you would be worried about the uncertainties regarding the exam schedule, pending lectures, placement boarding (for final years), internships and so on. These uncertainties are not only in the mind of students but with the whole world. So, we all need to deal with the situation with patience and courage.
