If given a chance I will try to change the examination pattern : Soumyadip Roychowdhury

Following my father's footsteps, I developed an interest in repairing old electrical articles and analyze the problem on my own. From my childhood, I used to help my father in activities like replacing lights, repairing electrical goods, making electrical connections to decorate my house during Diwali, etc. This passion made me persuade science in class XI-XII.

Working in TCS for the last two years has helped me to develop my skill sets needed to tackle individual portions in projects by collaborating with all the members in a team and to meet deadlines. Here, I could learn from colleagues the importance of having techno-managerial skills which are the key to be a real professional. This has inclined me to focus on other aspects of the business organization.

Especially here I would like to choose a brand like “Symbiosis” which has successfully completed many glorious years in the field of re-making of professionals. I heard from my batch mate who had got a chance to be a part of this institute that the students here are being guided by some of the best faculties in India. Moreover, the students also get the opportunity to be mentored by eminent personalities whom the institute welcomes as guest faculties. I think being guided by the curriculum of B-School will help me to overcome my flaws and build a better version of myself.

I cracked this college with the SNAP exam followed by GD-PI-WAT process. I gave other entrances like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. I took a 1-year classroom program from Career Launcher which helped me a lot to focus on my studies. I have applied for many other colleges like SCMHRD, SCIT, NMIMS Bangalore, SIBM Bangalore, SIOM, BIM, SRCC, Great Lakes, etc. and also converted a few of them. I attend lectures by our professors during college hours. I like to attend classes according to my interests and definitely according to my specialization. But I try to carefully listen and understand other lectures too.

Besides academics, I am a core committee member of ‘Entrepreneurship Cell’ of Symbiosis Institute of International Business. Entrepreneurship Cell of Symbiosis Institute of International Business provides a platform for the budding MBA students of Symbiosis Institute of International Business to develop and nurture their entrepreneurial skills. From organizing workshops to national level business plan competitions, we ensure that the students get the best exposure and are adept enough to face the challenges in the journey of becoming an entrepreneur.

I am also a core committee member of our marketing club “Markediction” where I am responsible for handling the social media page and online creatives. This helps me in enhancing my creativity which is very important to be a successful professional.

I would like to understand each and every concept with hands-on experience but due to lack of time, this is not possible. If given a chance, I will try to change the examination pattern so that everyone will be more habituated with the market from college days.

I think, being a part of a B School like Symbiosis Institute of International Business will be helpful for me to achieve my goal efficiently. The curriculum of the Symbiosis Institute of International Business not only helps in developing my soft skills and personality but also helps me to manage myself and grow as a better individual. MBA is a degree that is globally recognized and it helps people to increase self-confidence, self-dependence and better time management.
