IIM International placements - Every year, B-school placement reports throw up interesting data viz. MBA students, on-campus job offers and salary offers. The main purpose of campus placement process is to introduce the best of talent to the best of recruiters in India and abroad. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) leads among Indian B-Schools for international placements. Out of its 21 campuses, about 8-10 campuses have had overseas hiring every year of full-time MBA students. Foreign placements in IIMs bring to the candidates, salary packages between INR 55 lakh to over 1.40 crore per annum.
Trends of the past few years reveal that most of the international hiring takes place in Consulting followed by Finance. Some of the companies that head to India every year for recruitments are Roland Berger, Deutsche Bank, Modelez, Goldman Sachs, Bain and Company, Alvarez and Marshal, Bain & Company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, BCG, MH Alshaya, AT Kearney, BCG, Mckinsey, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, American Express, Citi Bank, Edelweiss, Blackrock, etc.
Although overseas recruitments are currently low in number and restricted to only the top IIMs and couple of other top B-schools, the trend is growing year on year. Despite a few years of COVID 19 pandemic and economic slowdown, IIM foreign placements are looking up.

- Only some of the top IIMs have recruiters hiring MBA graduates for overseas roles. The trend has not caught up with the newer IIMs yet.
- The IIM international salary offers often go up to INR 1 Cr but given the currency conversion rate and cost of living overseas, there’s not much to celebrate about. The key here is international exposure of the candidate.

The overall highest package recorded during IIM Ahmedabad PGP placements 2025 was INR 110 LPA. In PGP FABM and PGPX courses, the highest salary offered in 2025 was 41.83 LPA and 76.5 LPA.
In PGP FABM courses, 100% placements was recorded during the placement drive 2025 and 2024 as well. In PGPX course, 1 student was unplaced in 2025 as per the audited report. During the PGP placements 2025, 395 students were placed and 11 students opted out from placements out of total 406 eligible students. PGP placement rate in 2025 was 100%.

In the last few years, international offers have dwindled, due to global slowdown and other external factors. However, some of the IIMs have recorded abroad placements in the last two years. But there is a catch!
If you notice, IIM international placements salary (highest) offers are almost at par with the domestic (highest) offers made, thus there is a narrow gap between the two. Given the currency conversion rate and cost of living abroad, the international salary package (maximum earning potential and salary break up) look rather less attractive. However, global experience and exposure make IIM foreign placements attractive enough to explore the opportunity.
